Production of double page spread

I used indesign to produce the magazine, as I used this for my as media coursework so I was familiar with the software, meaning I could produce a documentary to a high quality professional standard

I put a drop shadow on the title as well as bevel and emboss to lift the text of the page and make it more eye catching to the reader

I used a drop cap to draw the audiences attention to the article and follow the conventions of a magazine article

I used this effects tool to add a bevel and emboss as well as a drop shadow to the title, subheadings, backing of images and pull quote. As shown in the red circles. I did this to make the magazine look my eye catching to the audience.

I spilt the article into columns in attempt to follow the rules of thirds

Here you can see the list of possible effects, we didn’t want the magazine article to look too over the top with effects so therefore kept the use of effects to a minimum

To tilt text I used this tool, it enabled me to make text and images look more eye catching and appealing to the audience.

In terms of choosing an appropriate colour I used the swatches tool in order to try and select one which best matched the facebook colour scheme.

Overall the use of in design was straight forward, allowing me to develop my skills gained from last year and produce a magazine article which linked will our other products.

I decided to take new images relevant to our documentary on social networking and the summer riots. There was then group in put into the most appropriate and eye catching images to use on the magazine.

This image shows the different types of technology and how the internet and social networking is accessible through a variety of different ways, this may be one of the reasons why social networking has become so popular, as there are very few limits as to when and where you can access it.
