STEP 1 Preparing your packing box Start with assembling your flat-packed box. This means expanding and taping the bottom of the box in an H-shape. Fold over the short ends, followed by the two lengthways flaps. Tape the ends and down the centre to create an H shape. When this is done correctly, the box will be sturdy. You shouldn’t be able to squash, or crush it. Correctly assembling the box gives it its strength and you will need this to carry the weight of your large china ornament. Flip the box over the correct way up and place a layer of scrunched paper at the bottom of the box. Prepare your work area with all the materials you need around you, ideally on a covered table. (We always cover the table to protect it from scratches.) 5 Steps to Packing Large China Ornaments Page 1 A Squab Removals Packing Guide You will need: • Strong, suitable sized cardboard box • Tissue paper • Packing paper • Packing tape STEP 2 Ornaments with fragile areas such as this one pictured, possibly with fragile hands and heads, need to be wrapped carefully.
