Artist Statement:My name is Emily Ek. I am 17 years old and currently attend Cheney High School. I love Jesus and people. I am supper outgoing and love staying busy. I am spontaneous and I enjoy being outside. I love the beach and the ocean. I enjoy painting and when I paint I love painting the ocean. There is so many beautiful colors and its such a calming place. I enjoy walking on the beach and picking up seashells the sunsets are always my favorite.
Description:This painting is of the beach around blue hour / sunset. I used yellows blues and greens and some white and pinks here and there. I used line to create the waves and how they crash and form. I used line to create the horizon line. I used shadows to create the effect of the wave crashing.
