Whytehall Retirement Village is a unique new
development specifically designed and developed to
provide the highest level of supportive continuing care.
Our vision is simple. To set the benchmark by which
all other retirement and nursing homes are judged.
Today, your organisation is being invited to become
our partners in this venture. You have the opportunity
to tender for the contract to manage and provide
care services to the residents of
Whytehall Retirement Village.
A growing demand
There is certainly a growing
demand for this kind of
retirement provision. People
approaching retirement
now expect the very best
accommodation combined
with a full range of facilities and ancillary services.
Whytehall Retirement Village will more than exceed
all of these expectations.
It is set in the 365 acres of the Stanford Hall estate.
Built in 1690, Stanford Hall itself is close by and is one
of the most exquisite examples of the architecture of
the period. It has a working theatre, grand ballroom,
library, drawing room and elegant bedrooms, as well
as the Souvenir Shop and Stables Café. There will
also be a 4-star hotel in the grounds with its own
high-class restaurants and bars which residents of
the village will be able to enjoy.
People will retire to Whytehall Retirement Village
from age 55 and will live out their days in peace
and tranquillity. If they become infirm, they can also
move into a full care facility which will provide a
whole range of services from convalescent and
respite care to dementia support.
Our partner
We are looking for a very special organisation
to form a partnership with in managing Whytehall
Retirement Village. You will need to have a unique
understanding of the requirements of operating
a retirement village and care home, as well as
accreditations and official links to local area
health authorities and hospitals.
Your experience, expertise and knowledge of
operating this kind of retirement development will
be crucial in determining the use of the apartments
and units, which is currently flexible but can be of
mixed use.
The retirement apartments at the development will
be available for leasehold and freehold, and your
organisation will need to maximise the potential profit
from the avenues of sales or lease. There may also be
opportunities for a profit sharing arrangement with
Chek Whyte Industries who will act as landlord for
the development.

Convalescent & Care8
The best possible place to recuperateWhether benefiting from convalescent or respite care, Whytehall
Retirement Village will take care of you.
Indeed, it's the perfect place to recuperate after an operation or illness,
or to enjoy a short stay to give your carers a well-earned break. We have
a number of self-contained and serviced apartments which are specifically
designed to cater for short-term convalescent care. Each apartment has a
bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and sitting room with a flat screen TV and DVD
player. All meals, laundry and cleaning are taken care of and if residents
need any extra help, we can create an individual care package tailored
to meet their needs.
Respite care is equally important. It can be demanding caring for an elderly
family member and carers do need to take a break from time to time.
It gives the elderly person a chance to enjoy a change of scenery, take
part in new activities and maybe even make new friends. While the carers
have the opportunity to recharge their batteries, boost their morale and
recommence their caring roles with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

A worry-free environment wherecouples can remain living togetherOur specially designed dementia apartments mean that couples,
where only one partner suffers from dementia, no longer have
to be separated.
Clearly, memory impairment problems don't just affect the sufferer, they can
be traumatic for their partner and whole family. But at Whytehall Retirement
Village, we make sure that couples don't also have the worry of being
separated, perhaps indefinitely.
As with all of our serviced apartments, all meals, laundry, cleaning and
utilities are included in the apartment fee. We also have a package of
dementia support services including one-to-one help tailored to meet the
needs of the resident.
It all means that partners of dementia care residents can have some time
for themselves, with the peace of mind that their loved one is receiving the
highest standards of care and attention. In addition, they can also make the
most of the many facilities and activities at Whytehall Retirement Village
and take a break from the worry and strain of their situation.

10History
Bui l t for the future on foundat ions f rom
The history of Stanford HallThe site on which Stanford Hall now stands has been occupied
by large country houses for well over 300 years.
Stanford, where Shakespeare's Avon flows gently through the Park, was the
home of the Cave family from 1430 onwards. In the 1690s, Sir Roger Cave
commissioned the Smiths of Warwick to pull down the old Manor House and
build the present Hall, which is a fine example of their work and of the
William and Mary period.
In 1928 the owner was Kathleen Kimball, who sold Stanford Hall to Sir Julian
Cahn for £70,000. Sir Julian was the son of Albert Cahn, the founder of
Nottingham Furnishing Company, who sold his chain of between 300 and
400 shops to Great Universal Stores.
Around 1936, Sir Julian Cahn decided to have his own theatre built and he
employed the services of a Mr. J.E. Redding, a well-known interior decorator
and designer. The walls of the auditorium were decorated with murals
painted by Beatrice MacDermott, a mural specialist known for her
screen designs.
When installed, the furnishings, décor, stage
equipment and dressing rooms were well ahead
of the time and perfect for modern performances.
A Wurlitzer theatre organ was bought by Sir Julian
from the Madeleine Theatre in Paris and installed
in the theatre.
As part of the entire development project, the
Theatre has been completely refurbished and will
be used for the production of plays, operas,
musicals and concerts by amateur and
professional companies.

Eco-Retirement VillageIncorporating sustainable technology for our village community
Global warming is already a reality and we all have to take steps to
reduce the risks it poses. At Whytehall Retirement Village, we're committed
to playing our part by developing and implementing energy-saving
technologies within the development wherever possible. The Whytehall
Retirement Eco-community is a new approach to retirement housing
which meets the global challenge of climate change through the use
of sustainable resources.
Ground source heat pumps
We will be incorporating ground source heat pumps into our development.
These use a buried ground loop to transfer heat from the ground into homes
to provide heating and hot water. For every unit of electricity used to pump
the heat, three to four units of heat are also produced making it an efficient
way of heating a home.
Rainwater HarvestingWe will also be making full use of recycled water. According to the
Environment Agency, using rainwater for garden watering, toilet flushing
and washing machines can save up to 50% of household water use. This is
why we will use harvested rainwater from roofs and roadways, paths, patios
and other hard-paved areas in our lavatory cisterns and washing machines.
