DEFINITION:

The surgical procedures are of 8 types . They are

chedyam –excision, bhedyam- incision , lekhyam- scrapping , vedhyam – puncturing ,eshyam –probbing, aaharyam –extraction, visravyam – drainage and seevyam –suturing . The instruments which are helpful in performing the above procedures are called “ SASTRAS”.
