Architecture Overview ….

Page 19: A Presentation on NREGS Web App 1.0

Architecture Defined ….

The Architecture definition of the NREGS Web

application is very simple. It is modeled on a typical

3Tier architecture framework. But the presence of

the software at two distinct levels gives the

impression that it is built on an nTier framework.

Page 20: A Presentation on NREGS Web App 1.0

Two distinct levels ….For any data driven application to work the criteria of user authentication; or simply put Login of a user is very much essential. This is because the software system must know who is trying to access the system as every type of user has a separate and well defined role to function. Depending on the Login the system will direct the user to a specific part of the software system.

The NREGS Web Application will be one single piece of software installed at two locations. They would be:

1. It would be installed in the laptop or desktop used by the 1v1c-ITforSocialChange Volunteers at the Village Level. These installations would be termed as Nodal Units.

2. It would be hosted on a webserver at http://nregs.it4sc.net/. This installation would be termed as the Web Unit.

The login procedure will be used primarily to identify the user who is trying to access the system and then direct the user to the pre-defined section of the system. Certain inputs from the user are captured by the system in such a manner that they can be propagated throughout the system till that user is logged on.
