Introduction:By gender we mean the socially constructed and culturally
determined characteristics associated with women and men,
The concept of livelihood extends to include social and culturemeans, i.e. the command an individually family, or other social
group has over an income and or bundles of resources that can be
used or exchanged to satisfy its needs.
In our India the rural economy is the backbone of the country,because almost 75percent of the total population are live in rural
India, and among them 55 percent women are live in that place.
But due to lack of proper educational facilities social barriers a
huge among of workforce are not use properly

Objectives:
To find out the nature of womens participation in differenttype livelihood activity.
To find out the present status extent of the womenparticipation in different type of sector.
To find out the disparity of wage rate among male &femaleengage in some non-farm activities.
To find out contribution of women in household income.
To examine the scope of non-farm activities in differentsector in the study area.
To examine socio-economic constrains in regard to differentactivities as well as the suggestive measure to overcomethe problems.

Study Area:
We have been selected as our study area at
Paschim Simulia village. It is located at near
Ranaghat sub-division in Nadia District. The
village is under Ranaghat -2 Block, under
Gangna pur police station. specially village is
so remote ,which is 6 km from the Ranaghat
Town , in this village there is nocommunication system

Methodology Considering the above objectives, the present study
has conducted in the village Paschim Simulia inRanaghat-2 Block of Nadia district.
For the purpose of primary data source with the helpof suitable survey schedule& questionnaires, have tobe prepared 20household have to be selected fromeach village of the study area.
For the secondary information we use same publisheddata by the Government or non- government agenciesmay be used.
For analysis the survey we have done tabular &chartfrom of the data& briefly analyzed summarized them.

Women work participation in
agricultural sector In my surveyed village I found 13 families are
partially involved in agricultural sector among
the 20 families. Because maximum are from
BPL families, so they want to increase their
family income.They help in the different types
of activities in the agricultural system. Besides
2 families are totally involve in the agriculturalsector.

In my surveyed village only 8 families involved in SHG, there are only two
SHG exists in these village . mainly their activities limited its main reason
their resource is very minimum.Those family involve in SHG they lend
money Rs. 30&50 every month.Other hand that group lend back the
member or other individual in 2% &1.5% for their any purpose.

In my surveyed village I found that only 7days work iscreated. In my surveyed households there are women from
only 2 families are involved in the MGNREGA sector.
Because maximum number of women unaccustomed with
these type of work.

Socially restriction for women
The main reason is male-dominant society.
They are engage in their household work likecooking, cleaning, child caring etc.
They thought that it spoils the family image.
They are very much deserved.
Lack of awareness of the organized sector. They are not eligible in organized sector, because they
are not skilled or educated.

Findings Maximum of women are involved in the agriculture sector.
A very few portion of the families are involved in theorganized sector.
In MGNREGA sector also have a poor percentage of women.
A good number of women involved in SHG.There are twoSHG is found in this village.These are Begopara MohilaSamiti & Uday dal
There is also different types of specialized activities are foundin the women.These are Bidi binding, Animal husbandry, shop
keeping, garland making etc.
There is found different types of social restriction for thewomen .

Summary &conclusion.
However, inhabitant of Paschim Simulia faced various problems in agriculture inagriculture and non-agriculture fields mention earlier, the common problems arelack of education, skill, training, knowledge of education, skill, training, knowledge, capital, proper rate of production communication.
The above mention constrains or limitation can be overcome through bettereducation, proper training and its timely application. Farmers should be gettingregular training about up to date eco-friendly, agro-technologies. It is needless tomention the basic idea behind training is to improve
Through Government concern &other NGOs hearty contribution theawareness about women & the rate of women participation in farm andnon-farm sector is looking a graceful position. Rural people are now verymuch conscious about overall improvement in their lifestyle & womens
status. They feel that women has potential to done easy &hard work in theequally to the men. For that the picture of womens participation in ruralIndia has become change. The women are now participate in a largenumber of agriculture as well as non-farm sector &social-political sector tohide their own position. Women are the source of flow less power tomanage home & outside of the home.
