Lancelin golf course was developed by Jock
Borthwick, a retired professional golfer, in the
late 1970’s. The Lancelin Golf Course is
considered one of only a few true links courses
in Australia and provides a challenging and
splendid gem for golfers of all ages and
abilities.
The golf course is very accessible being only an
hour and a half drive from the airport and
Perth City, less than an hour from the northern
suburbs and just minutes from the heart of
Lancelin.
The Lancelin Golf Club has completed a
greening program that has seen Holes 10 to 18
irrigated and the results are stunning.
Work is completed remodelling the T Boxes
and grassing the greens on holes 10-18.
The Lancelin Golf Club sponsorship
opportunities provide individuals, small
business and corporate organisations a range
of opportunities to be part of the development
of this fantastic community asset and to be
part of this significant regional recreational
hub.
An insight into the Lancelin Golf Club Course development and how you can help.
The club’s most immediate intention is to consolidate and maintain our course by:
1. Ensuring that what we have we keep in A1 condition.
2. Training an army of volunteers how to get the best from what we have.
3. Expand membership.
4. Be always open for new business.
5. Welcome vistors.
6. Run enjoyable and cheap golf for our members.
7. Be open to new ideas.
Why Sponsor at all?
Lancelin Golf Club stands alone is
wholly self funding. Its income is
derived from memberships, green
fees, donations, sponsorships from
businesses and private individuals
and periodic grants from Bendigo
Bank and Gingin Shire.
Maintanence of the course and
greens is possible only due to the
team of stalwart volunteers who
tirelessly and unselfishly give their
time and effort to keep the course
in condition. Without external
support from people like you and
our volunteers, this JEWEL IN THE
DUNES would probably not exist.
Do we need a golf course?
A good question!
The course is a big draw card for
bringing visitors into town.
It provides a venue for all of the
town’s golfers, young and old to
meet on a regular basis and
exercise the body and mind, it
keeps them fit and healthy.
It spawns good opportunities for
fellowship.
In short, it is a vital venue for the
town of Lancelin.
How is my sponsorship used?
Another good question!
Although we can sometimes receive
grant funding, by law these grants
can only cover a third of the cost of
any expenditure; the rest must be
found by the club in the form of
financial support, i.e.
SPONSORSHIP!
Your much appreciated gifts of
sponsorship “inkind” or “monetary”
offset the costs of installing or
maintaining reticulation, turf and
machinery.
