513 513 Appendix C: Crafts and Take Home Sheets, Unit 4, Bible Truth 7: Extra Crafts Craft Description The children will decorate a poem that tells them about how mighty the LORD is. There are two options for this craft: a glue and stick option or a coloring sheet option. Materials 1 Copy of the poem White paper, cardstock preferred Markers Extra Decorating Supplies (stickers, glitter glue, jiggly eyes, etc.) and glue sticks (if needed) Stapler Preparations 1. Copy the 2 sides of the poem onto the back and front of one piece of paper, making a 2-sided document. 2. Set out markers, glue on paper plates (or glue sticks) for whichever version of the craft you are doing. 3. Set out any extra decorating supplies. Introducing the Craft: “Our Big Question is: “Can Anyone Tell Me What the LORD is Like? We’ve learned that “He’s Not Like Anyone Else… He Can Do Whatever He Wants to Do.” That’s something very good to know. But many people don’t know that. So do you know what God wants us to do? He wants us to go and tell others this very important news. So today we are going to make something we can show and tell them, too. Here’s what it looks like…(Hold up example of craft) Directions 1. Show the children your finished craft, reading the poem and pointing to the pictures as you read it. 2. Have the children decorate with markers/crayons the pictures. 3. Allow them to add any extra decorating elements you have for them. 4. Let pictures dry (if needed). 5. Fold cards down middle. 6. Make sure child’s name is written on craft.
