A perfect place to rest & unwind at Amanvana Coorg - an excerpt from my travel diary

INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION ABOUT MYSELF

I am LIEN, an avid traveler. Recently, I spent the weekend at a lovely, calming resort in Coorg called Amanvana. At present, I am in Sydney for the Christmas celebration.

Amanvana is a spa resort that is as beautiful as it is quiet. Almost immediately, this resort in Coorg has stilled my

anxieties, and it will stay that way, uncluttered my mind.

WELCOMING IN AMANVANA

As soon as I entered the place, I have been welcomed by rows of green trees, grass, and a flat Zen-like structure that is the main building and reception.

I entered this building to sign in, and then courteous staff greeted me.

Sat in a large, pleasant seating area with a hearth in the center of one wall, and elegant upholstery running across the walls. Then I started walking toward my bungalow.

WAY TO BUNGALOW

From the reception to the bungalows, I encounter rows of fruit trees and parapets where you may sit and listen to the birds or simply watch the clouds.

The bungalow surprised me with its simple luxury and its beautiful sense of spatial design.

Even the bathroom had a sense of harmony and freedom to it.

Each bungalow in this Coorg resort comes with a private lawn where birds nest in the trees, a lotus flower slides along a pool, and cats come to visit you at night.

MAGICAL VIEW OF KAVERI RIVER

A hundred meters from the bungalow, I heard the gurgling of the river. I took a little stroll down a tree-lined avenue.

The gurgling got louder, until all of a sudden, I was faced with one of the most magical views of my life: the Kaveri, running through the resort, and the eight islands beyond it.

BAMBOO BRIDGE AND RIVER KAVERI

There is a bamboo bridge that connects the river’s bank to the forest at the other side of the river.

I sat down on this bridge, took off my shoes and dropped my feet into the water below. But for the first time in my life, this Coorg resort inspired me to get close to water.

Many things that I was running away from in my life became clearer.
