Term 3 Weeks 4-5 meet with Team Leader (complete proforma) Weeks 5-6 prepare presentation VISION The implementation and application of a'best practice' model of writing instruction in all classrooms P-6 GOALS AND TARGETS • to improve the explicit teaching of writing. • to improve student learning achievement in Literacy -Writing. • to increase the proportion of students achieving at or above the expected level in each cohort as they progress through the school in writing. *VELS - Year 2 90% at or above appropriate level *VELS - Year 4 80% at or above appropriate level *VELS - Year 6 80% at or above appropriate level *NAPLAN - Year 3 mean 2.5 *NAPLAN - Year 5 mean 3.0* PRACTICE Every classroom will reflect all elements of a'best practice < model of literacy (Writing) learning and instruction - Writing PD Stephen Graham The daily 2 hour literacy block will incorporate one hour of writing. These reflections will form the basis of conversations with Team Leaders. Establish process with Observer. Meet with your Observer to set parameters, timings and format of your actual observations. Two classroom observations are to be conducted, the second following the implementation of feedback from first session NEW LEARNING Apply new learning through practise and implementation of improvement strategy.
