перешкоджай; не біжи; вважай, бо впадеш; тим гірше для тебе; ти не вмієш; ти

замалий; я сам зроблю; ти вже великий; йди спати; вставай, вже пізно; я маю роботу;

бався сам; одягнися; не стій на сонці; йди на сонце; не розмовляй з повним ротом…

Те, що ми хотіли б почути:

The way to please the Lord

A novice went to Abbot Macarius seeking advice about the best way to please

the Lord.

- Go to the cemetery and insult the dead – said Macarius.

The brother did as he was told. The following day, he returned to Macarius.

- Did they respond? – asked the abbot.

The novice said no, they didn’t.

- Then go to them and praise them.

The novice obeyed. That same afternoon, he returned to the abbot, who again

wished to know whether the dead had responded.

- No – said the novice.

- In order to please the Lord, behave as they do – said Macarius. - Pay no heed to

the insults of men, nor to their praise; in this way, you shall forge your own path.

Celebrating 100 years of our Parish

Dear Parishioners and Friends!

The statue of the Blessed Mother which stands on the top of our Church main Dome was restored and will be displayed

in our Church for on Sunday, September 14, 2014. On this special Sunday (which will mark the beginning of the 100

years Celebrations of our Parish) we will have only one Divine Liturgy at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Moleben to the

Blessed Mother. After the Liturgical services everyone is invited for Coffee and sweets. We encourage our Parishioners

to make a special donation on this Sunday to help us cover the expenses with the Statue Restoration.

The Celebrations of the 100 years of our Parish will continue October 26, 2014 with the IC Schools Benefit Banquet,

with Guest Speakers, Immaculate Conception Schools Alumni "Poets and Authors" Olenka Kalytiak Davis, Ksenia

Rychtycka Horobchenko and Natalia Iwanyckyj Tegler.

December 7, 2014 10:00 a.m. Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and Centennial Banquet at 4:00 p.m.

We are grateful to God for this milestone, for all the blessings, graces received throughout those 100 years.

IC Church Restoration

We are celebrating the Centennial of

Immaculate Conception Ukrainian

Catholic Parish. The cornerstone of our

first Church in Hamtramck was blessed

on December 25, 1913, and the building

was completed and blessed in 1914.

Therefore, it is fitting for us to cele-

brate this very important milestone

of our Ukrainian-America Community

in 2014.

To preserve Immaculate Conception

Ukrainian Catholic Church, its beauti-

ful icons, murals, paintings, and the

artistry of Mr. Mychajlo Dmytrenko is

the responsibility of our Parishioners

and our Detroit Ukrainian-American

community. Working together, we will

secure our beautiful Church for future

generations. Here they will be baptized, have their first

communion, have their marriage blessed, and receive their

final blessing at the time appointed by God.

At this time, we are reinitiating the fundraising cam-

paign for the Third Phase of the IC Church restoration

project. We ask you to once again be zealous and generous

in your donations. The estimated cost of this next phase is

$175,000. It is a significant cost. As was the case with the

first phase of this project, it is achievable if we all do our

part.

We ask you to consider making another effort, another

sacrifice, and help us restore our beautiful Church. This will

help to preserve a historic place of worship for future gener-

ations of Ukrainian-American families in the metropolitan

Detroit area.

Дорогі парафіяни, друзі! Статуя Божої Мaтері, котра знаходилась на головному

куполі нашої Української Католицької церкви

Непорочного Зачаття вже реставрована та буде виставлена

на показ у нашій церкві в неділю, 14 вересня 2014 року.

Ця неділя буде особливою, бо стане початком святкувань

100 ліття існування нашої парафії. В цю неділю ми будемо

мати тільки одину Святу Літургію о 9: 00 ранку. Після

того буде Молебень до Божої Матері. Після відправ усіх

запрошуємо на каву і солодке. Закликаємо усіх парафіян та

гостей скласти грошові пожертви у фонд відновлення

статуї Божої Матері, яка є покровителькою нашої парафії.

Святкування 100 ліття нашої парафії продовжиться

26 жовтня 2014 р Шкільним Доброчинним бенкетом.
