We were delighted to have been invited to present at Manchester Town Hall on Delivering Effective Initial Teacher Training (ITT). This was an opportunity for us to share with colleagues our innovative provision and its successes. In addition to this, we are hosting the ITT North West Regional Ofsted Conference at the Teaching School in March. It has also been an honour to receive an invitation to join the development team for the new Apprenticeship Trailblazers for both the Teaching Assistant and Teaching Apprentices. Contributing to the shaping of new qualifications is always a privilege as it enables us to be at the forefront of the ever-changing educational system. Within this edition, you will read about how we are extending our leadership provision with Best Practice Network, Lord Derby Academy’s recent Ofsted inspection outcome and developments within Teaching, Learning and Leadership, our Maths Hub and SCITT. From September 2017, the Outstanding Leaders Partnership, which is led by Ashton on Mersey School and managed by Best Practice Network, will be a national brand. OLP are joining forces with licensed leadership providers in the East of England, East Midlands and a further network of Teaching School Alliances across the country to create one cohesive, school-led partnership. ‘OLP National’ will enable the regional partnerships to extend and enhance their existing programme offer, starting with the inclusion of a new National Professional Qualification for Executive Leaders. This school-led partnership will extend their work with Teaching School Alliances to offer more flexible access to locally delivered Outstanding Leaders Partnership Mrs K Baddeley Head of Teaching School and contextualised leadership content. School-led boards will oversee provision in each of the regions ensuring professional rigour and provision that addresses regional needs.
