The Lions Pride Holden Car Club Inc.The Lions Pride Holden Car Club Inc. welcomes owners and enthusiasts of Holden Models 48215
to VL Commodore and Torana inclusive.
We are a social group who share a common interest in early model Holdens. We are members of aformally incorporated Club made up of men and women of all ages including singles and family
groups. Club member cars include a variety of original, restored and modified Holdens.
It makes no difference if your Holden is a show car, original or modified, under restoration, or a dailydriver. If you are interested in preserving, restoring, modifying, driving or just admiring the General’s
Australian product, you will find others in the Club with similar interests.
We meet regularly to share information about our interests and participate in the organisation of Clubevents. We have negotiated, through generous sponsors, a variety of discounts for products and
services. Members also have the opportunity to network, often providing access to invaluableknowledge and a source of hard to get parts. Club membercars may also be eligible for classic
historic registration or a reduction in the cost of insurance premiums.
Members, their families and friends attend functions such as Club runs, picnics, barbecues, swapmeets, navigation runs, car shows and a Christmas party for the kids.
New members are always welcome ...... so come and join us!

G'Day All,I hope this publication finds you well andmanaging to keep warm amid this suddenonslaught of winter. Usually things slow downsomewhat within the automotive world duringthese cooler months but its somewhat differentfor us...we have a major celebration to enjoy !
Yes its our 25th...a very significant milestone inthe history of LPHCC and its wonderful that somany of you will be in Echuca over the cominglong weekend . It is a added bonus and privilegethat our sister club from NSW will also be inattendance. The NSW club was formed in 2000with our assistance and its become a tradition tohave a gathering every two years or so. Myunderstanding is that they are arriving on theFriday and consequently we are having awelcome BBQ dinner as many of you will also bethere then. Elsewhere in this publication you willfind more information as to whats happeningwhere and when. I hope as many of you aspossible can share in this celebration and dobring along that classic Holden...I know that theMonaro is pretty keen to devour somekilometers.
The financial year draws rapidly to a close andconsequently membership renewals are due. Allmembers are advised to renew online or at anybranch of the Bendigo Bank thus avoidingunnecessary frustration at the June MGM...please ensure that your identity is notedagainst the transaction. Further informationconcerning the renewal process is to be foundelsewhere in this publication.
Due to your ongoing generous support "Lion'sPride '' finds itself in a sound financial position .Obviously we have ongoing commitments andprudence dictates that we must have somethingput aside for a rainy day . It has always been thiscommittee 's intention to return any extra fundsto the membership . Consequently to celebrateour 25th all members will receivecommemorative memorabilia which will bedistributed at Echuca...members who cannotattend will not miss out. The Club will also caterfor the welcome BBQ dinner on the Friday nightcommencing at 17.00 . There will also be a fuelsubsidy of $50.00 per membership for those whoundertake the journey North.I would like to take this opportunity to remind youof our rapidly approaching AGM on July 23nd
..isn't this year slipping by so rapidly ! Allmembers are expected to attend the function theformat of which will be similar to recent years. We will again be having a silent auction so startlooking around for something automotive whichyou can donate towards proceedings. An crucialaspect of the AGM is the election of the nextcommittee...all positions are declared vacant asrequired by the legislation which regulatesorganizations like ours.
As advised at the May MGM this is my sixth andfinal year as President...I have been a Clubmember for 11 years and 8 of those years havebeen spend on the committee. Along the wayI've had the great pleasure to meet and workwith some wonderful people and have alwaysendeavored to contribute to the best of myability. I'm looking forward to an ongoing role asVice President as its a tradition in 'Lions Pride'that the immediate Past President fulfills thatrole. As a Club we have all been fortunate to beserved by good ,dedicated committees in recentyears but change is always inevitable andnecessary. As you all should be aware, we dohave a mentoring system in place whereindividuals can understudy a position for aperiod of time . The present committee with theexception of Peter S and myself may considerrenomination in the short term to provide someadditional stability during this transitional period .This is a great opportunity to become involvedand a reminder that these roles need to beshared or we risk losing the good people wehave .
Until next time,
JohnEditors Note: Here is John receiving the "BestCar on the Island" award. Congratulations.
