Resident of the Month: Mario Guglielmi

The Animal in You: Birthday Critters

Mario Guglielmi was born in Campo di Fano, Italy, on June 7, 1940. Mario joined the Italian Army where he began his career as a Chef. He came to America when he was 21 and he met his wife, Giuseppina, who was 19. They were married on April 3, 1965 and had two daughters, Filomena and Roberta.

Mario has worked at many famous establishments such as Play Boy Casino, Tropicana Casino, Mama Ventura’s, also in New Jersey, and The Original House of Pagano’s, which was in University City,

Philadelphia. Mario loves to cook and has cooked for many, many birthday parties and happy occasions for his three grandchildren, Michael, Joseph and Juliana. His grandchildren have fond memories of Christmas Eve and the Feast of the Seven Fishes, which Mario cooked for over 20 years. As a result of all those Christmas Eve Feasts, his middle grandson, Joseph, who loved helping and watching his grandfather cook, followed in his footsteps and went to Culinary School, which made Mario extremely proud.
