Opening title research The sequence I will be analyzing the tittle and text of is, game of thrones. Starting with the font, it starts by showing the actors in the series. The name fades in onto the screen and stays there for about 2 seconds before fading out again. The font is a dullish gold and in capital letters but not a large font so you know it is not the name of the program but the names of the cast. Also it is positioned so it the font is in the ring so it looks neat and placed well. The effect of this is that Actors name starts by fading in and then to the right it then has the font placed on the ring as the ring rotates. Then after the two or so seconds the next shot shows the name disappearing. Also when showing the cast of the program the font is placed so it does not really get in the way of what it is trying to show in the background. This is the title of the program and you can tell this because the font is much larger then all the rest of other titles for the cast and producers. It’s also very bright in the background and its like its shinning so you focus on the tittle, it alarms you that it’s the tittle. The ring that it is on dominates the whole screen this makes it evident that this is the tittle, the font is also bright and a lot brighter then the other tittles. The effect given by this is that you know this is the tittle of the program as it just shows its dominance on the screen and makes you focus on it once it pops up so you know this is what you are watching, as its bright and big font.
At the end of the tittle opening the director and the writers, as they are a very important part of the program, the writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and the director being Alan Taylor. The font they use is the same as for all the cast and fits in well with the theme of the opening.
