Definition: Performance MeasuresFor competitive reasons we need to measure the end – to – end

performance of our organization directly.

We can see that the performance measures are composed of a number and a unit measure . the number provides that magnitude "how much" and the unit is what gives the number its meaning "what" .

Here in (Made in Egypt with Egyptian hands " the producing village ") the basic purpose of the measurement is to provide feedback , relative to the goals that increase our chance of improving the performance of the Egyptian village efficiently and effectively . if we can get our performance measurement right , the data we generate will tell us where we are and how we are doing and where we are going.

Page 40: A Knowledge InnovationTM Project Proposal for (The Producing Village) June 2005 - Egypt.

Activities: Performance Measures• Urgent (address immediately)

Definition: Education / Development

• Education, no longer resides within the confines of the traditional centres .Virtual and" real-time" learning have become commonplace and the learner is at the heart of the activity.

• The ability to create and apply new ideas becomes the secret to competitive advantage. Companies recognize the need to incentive and incubate some of the best ideas into new products and services – even new markets.

• So, no doubt that when we talk about the development of the Egyptian village we must take in consideration the innovation process that we want to achieve. the village is always known as a poor and non innovation area .we must assure on the education in the village with new methodology that assess the newest thinking and the competitive market

Page 44: A Knowledge InnovationTM Project Proposal for (The Producing Village) June 2005 - Egypt.

Definition: Learning Network

• In an innovation value – system all functions and business unites serve as source of information – including external stakeholders, alliance partners and customers. In this regard, all locations of the company have an innovation responsibility – to source ideas and forward them to those responsible for corporate strategy by sharing and communication of knowledge.

• In the Egyptian village "the knowledge innovation process clearly will have to be presented as a facilitative dialogue to excel in its own country. This is necessary to initiate an accumulate process of distributed knowledge generation.

Page 48: A Knowledge InnovationTM Project Proposal for (The Producing Village) June 2005 - Egypt.

Definition: Market Positioning

• Most companies have an organized system to track competitors. However, market boundaries are beginning to blur , and it's difficult to scope those who might have slated you as a competitor and its not always obvious who might be a supplier, alliance partner or competitor all at the same time.

• With the acceleration of information technology , globalization , niche markets and sophistication of consumer demand , intelligence must come everywhere in the organization . more systematic methods should be deployed in order to gather insight , add value through analysis and feed the information forward to those in the need – to - know .

• In " The Producing Village " we must try to assess the organization's ability to gather information from the external environment , and then use this information internally to support the innovation process.

Page 52: A Knowledge InnovationTM Project Proposal for (The Producing Village) June 2005 - Egypt.

Activities: Market Positioning• Urgent (address immediately)

competitors with completely different value propositions than we might be used to.

• We need to be careful of focusing o n our "present" competitors and learn to shift towards who might the new competitors in a collaborative manner in support of customer success.

• The shift to knowledge-intensive service, as knowledge is a must . the knowledge that goes into the creation and marketing of a product is more valuable than the product itself. The challenge is how to package and sell that knowledge.

• This dimension includes the most important on-going products , services and polices in the governorate in order to improve life quality , through it can give a critical and analytical vision about the recent human development services and activities in the governorate and not just reviewing the achievements.

• It also includes the future vision of human development in the Egyptian village.

• We need to be careful of focusing o n our "present" competitors and learn to shift towards who might the new competitors in a collaborative manner in support of customer success.

• The dawn of the new age of innovation is one of collaborative , not competitive ,strategy that realize the need of alliances and the ability to manage those relationship effectively .

• It includes the future vision of human development in the Egyptian village through alliances and relationship among the ministries and the governorates to maintain enough flexibility to sustain market changes and will produce a higher quality of villages services.

Definition: Market Image• The Contact with a customer begins with the first introduction to the

organization .You do not get a second chance to make a good first impression’

• Market Image is important as marketing communications. An organization needs a comprehensive , integrated communication strategy that leverages its ability to capitalize on its intellectual competence. External communication is a powerful vehicle for promoting services to position the business capability of our organization – a priority in the minds of investors. Ideally, the external messages are consistent with the internal capabilities of the organization!

• In the Egyptian Village This can be accomplished through advertising messages based upon knowledge-based competencies of the services rendered , using balanced message regarding the current position and future direction.

Definition: Leadership / Leverage• As we need to move our organization and villages forward, It takes a

certain kind of human being to foresee the unimaginable and have the business acumen to change vision into reality.

• It is not enough to have good ideas, they must be translated into prosperity.

• Leadership is required inside the organization / villages in order to capitalize upon the multiple opportunities ahead.

• The Knowledge Economy demands a very different way of operating from previous economies. Leadership is necessary to coalesce all the internal and external constituents to support the innovation process.

• The thirst for new ideas and the challenge for immediate implementation are essential for business survival
