CLOSE UP• The close up shot is use to capture

a person facial expression or an object.

• In the image we have captured a persons expression as he goes to walk through the door.

MID SHOT• The Mid shot is used to show gestures,

costumes and sometimes relationships between characters.

• In the image we can see the character costume and the facial expression (Gesture)

ACTION SHOT• Action shot is used to the movement of

the character as well as the surrounding area.

• In the image we can see the character jumping and we can also see the surrounding area.

BIRDS EYE VIEW• The birds eye view shot is used to

capture the location or a particular scene that may be happening below.

• If its on a person it makes that character look weak and defenceless

MASTER SHOT

• The master shot is used to show the location of the shot as well as the any action that may be taking place.

CLOSE UP• The close up shot is used to focus on a

certain person’s facial expression or an object.

• In this image we can see a ladybird in full focus with its background blurred.

LONG SHOT• The long shot is used

to capture action and/or the location of the scene.

• This image shows a cornfield with the main focus being the person in the middle doing an action

P.O.V (POINT OF VIEW)• The POV shot is from the camera

persons perspective. In this photo was taken up side down through someone legs. In this we can see the location of the shot.

Over the shoulder shot.• Over the shoulder shot are used

to show a conversation is happening between two or more people but is focusing on one persons facial expression.

TWO SHOT• A two shot is used to show

gestures, costume and/or the relationship the characters may or may not share.

EXTREME CLOSE UP• An extreme close up shot is used to

show direct significant to narrative/ it also help the audience understand a characters facial expression.

PANNING SHOT• Panning shots are used to capture/ follow

movement of something.• In the image the main focus is of a man

on a motorcycle while the background is blurred and staggered.

TRACKING SHOT• Tracking shots used to move with

action. It is done by using a set like this. Train tracks are set up with a camera man at with a the camera on tracks moving around the scene.

LOW SHOT• A low shot is used to show who

has power, authority in the scene.• In the image we see two

characters looking down at something. This gives them more authority over the thing they are looking at.

TILT SHOT• A tilt shot is the opposite of a

panning shot, this is done vertically rather than horizontally.

• In the image we can see the power-station on a vertical angle rather than it being horizontal.

• The movement with tilt shot the camera moves up and down.

CRANE SHOT• A crane shot is used to

capture a image far away and also high up looking down on the action.

• In the image we can see the equipment used to do a crane shot. An then another image of how this looks.

• Its more parallel to the action.

CANTED ANGLE• When the horizon is at an angle/ it

connotes all is not well. This show disaster. It also shows the world is not right.

• If it’s a point of view shot its to show that someone is drunk/infirm or fallen over.

• This kind of shot is mostly used in horror movies.

HIGH SHOT• A high angle shot is used to capture a

whole location with some action. In this we can see the location, action and costume of the characters.
