A Field In England wrapped shooting on 6th October 2012. It was then edited, graded, mixed and scored. On 8th May 2013, it was announced that the film would be released simultaneously in cinemas, on Film4 channel, DVD on 5th July 2013.

A Field in England was officially announced to the public on the Film4 blog on 4th September 2012. Locations were recced, actors cast, costumes designed, prosthetics tested and lines rehearsed, from 10th September up until start of shoot on the 24th September.

A Field In England began its 12 day shoot on 24th September 2012 near Farnham in Surrey and wrapped 6th October 2012, with one day off in the middle. Director and editor Ben Wheatley edited at night during the shoot to make sure everything was covered as the schedule progressed.
