MotivationThe analysis of student learning tracking data collected throughout a course can be a very valuable source of information, allowing teachers and students to improve their teaching and learning processes.
Storage, visualization and exportation of the tracking information are required
Unit responsible for giving support to teachers in the creation of educational online content.
UPCTforma is an environment developed by the CPCD which includes an authoring tool for creating educational multimedia content, along with evaluation, gamification, authentication and tracking components.
Architecture
Tool that facilitates the storage, visualization and exportation of the tracking information.
Independent: Tracking information independently to the e-learning platforms on which the courses can be deployed.
Common tracking data: Allows register tracking data common to any element which forms a part of the course.
Specific tracking data: It is possible to define specific data for particular elements.
Visualization and exportation: Users are identified (students or teacher) personalizing the information.
Tracking component
Common tracking data
Objectives achieved.
Grades obtained.
Number of entries.
Time spent
Specific tracking data
Each of the student’s attempts can be stored.
A concept may not have been correctly understood if a large number of students have made the same mistakes in their first attempts.
Amount of time each student spends watching a video and the number of times the video is put on “pause” or “play” can be defined
Visualization and exportation
Visualization for grades, progress of each student in the different units, number of entries or the time spent.
Allows export to Excel.
