    THE FIRST SIX SEALSPRELIMINARY SIGNS OF THE END 1. Subject of this Section.This section gives an account of the six Seals, which

    in the os!els an" in conte#!o$a$% an" ea$lie$ &u"ais# we$e the 'essianic woes o$

    signs of the i##e"iate "est$uction of the !$esent wo$l". The wo$l" in all its !hases

    The "e!en"ence of ou$ autho$ on a !$e:existing eschatological sche#e is fu$the$

    shown (% his see#ing a(an"on#ent of it in two !a$ticula$s. 1. Although he gives a new

    cha$acte$ to the seventh woe uite "istinct f$o# that of the last woe in these os!els, he

    is ca$eful not to o#it the su(@ect:#atte$ of this last woe, an" acco$"ingl% e#(o"ies it

    un"e$ the sixth Seal. Thus the sixth Seal e#($aces the two os!el woesea$thua-es

    an" signs in the !owe$s of heaven. 2u$ autho$ the$efo$e !$efe$$e" inclu"ing these two
