• superguide » mlnl pc perlpherals $39 I WWW.KOGAN.COM.AU KOGAN DELUXE WIRELESS KEYBOARD AND TRACKPAD Perfect for compact dual handed use . The Kogan keyboard is almost pocket sized -measuring in at l47mm wide by98mm deep and 19mm thick . It's got a soft touch plastic shell, which while disconcertingly light at llOg, also has a robust quality feel. The keys are just large enough to peck away at while the trackpad is smooth and accurate. You also get a bunch of media controls as well as a full complement ofF keys. The Deluxe has an 810 mAh battery that can be recharged via the included USB cable, though no standalone charger is included. It connects via 2.4GHz wi reless, and we had no range issues during testing. The Kogan unit can also be used to directly control your Kogan Smart TV. Xbox 360 andPS3. Verdict An easy to use, very compact keyboard with decent trackpad and media keys. *** ** 66 www.apcmag.com $59 I WWW.LENOVO.COM LENOVO N5902 An intriguingly different design. HTPC keyboards can often be a little fiddly to use, so Lenovo squeezed the N5902 into an almost pistol grip shape. Rather than a touchpad, it's got optical finger navigation -like a touch sensitive mouse nubbin. Unfortunately it's quite small and accuracy is pretty low, but with some practice you can get decent results. It's also got a touch sensitive scroll bar. Holding the N5902 in one hand doesn't let you reach all the keys, but it's perfectly shaped to hold in two hands and type with your thumbs. In a strip along the top it's got media controls and the keys are backlit. automatically coming on when you use it. Lenovo claims a 3 month battery life from two AA batteries . Verdict The N5902 offers adequate one handed keyboa rding, but the buttons are small and the mousing control can be fiddly. *** ** $79.95 I WWW.LOGITECH.COM LOG I TECH K400 Cheap and cheerful The problem with cheaper wireless keyboard trackpad combos is that the quality is often lacking to the point where it affects usability. The K 400 just the right size to throw on the coffee table for general HTPC duties. It's got a 10m range, uses two AA batteries and a couple of extra function buttons such as power. It also supports Windows 8, has a miniature USB receiver and comes with a three year warranty. While lightweight the K 400 feels a little plasticy and it's not exactly a pleasure to type on. The small3.5-inch trackpad is decently responsive and supports multi touch and overall it's a very useable HTPC combo. Ignore the RRP and shop around online as it's often sale- otherwise grab one for around $45. Verdict With a 10m range, multi touch trackpad and light weight, this is an effective - if costly- wireless couch keyboard. ** * **
