• Improved Civic Space (Squares and Walkways)

• Least Possible Pollution

• Diversity (Local Need: Retail, Leisure, Culture, Ameneties, Eating and Drinking)

• None of the above ‘Workable Alternatives’ are Supermarket Funded

• Problem with Leegate plans is they are supermarket funded and the supermarket is demanding to dominate the site

Do we Need a Supermarket to Create Footfall in Leegate?

No!

• ‘Good public spaces increase footfall in town centres by up to 40%’ (Civic Space)

• ‘Good design increases footfall’• ‘Diversity of retail, leisure, culture increases footfall’ (Diversity)

• Once in a lifetime opportunity to create a Great Town Centre which gives the community of Lee and surrounding areas a meaningful place to gather and meet their everyday needs
