A few specific processes that make our team qualified to provide highly effective and valuable services include:

Partnering, Collaboration and Communication—Understanding the client’s priorities, needs and goals serves as the starting point for the preconstruction process. Developing

a partnership with the client and their team is essential to success moving forward.

Methodology for Controlling Costs—Our team’s cost control strategy works in harmony with the intercommunications of the design team and client. Evaluation of alternate materials and products, and thoroughly analyzing the energy and efficiency of the buildings systems, allows the client to select systems that provide the best value. All equipment and systems will be evaluated for initial costs, energy consumption, carbon output, system service/maintenance cost, and overall efficiency or replacement costs.

Budget Development—Developing a comprehensive cost model/budget for the project allows the client to make critical decisions based on accurate cost data. Before the design process proceeds to the next stage of development, a fully detailed and comprehensive cost estimate is provided and reviewed with the entire project team for approval.

Coordination—Building Information Modeling (BIM) is utilized to coordinate, detect, and resolve potential clashes between building systems. Utilizing BIM greatly enhances the understanding of the project for all parties.

Constructability and Site Logistics—Evaluating the design for constructability and providing input on the construction means and methods allows Flint to bring a builder’s approach to the design process, reducing critical construction impacts to both cost and schedule.

Scheduling—Our team uses the latest Oracle P6 scheduling software with enhanced capabilities such as collaborative features available through on-line access. We genuinely believe schedule and cost are directly related, and have a direct affect on the overall success of the project.

Flint’s LEED APs have proven experience in navigating the owner and project team successfully through the LEED project certification process. They help owners find environmentally friendly construction alternatives and save money. More companies and building owners are considering the future of building and operational systems that bring a reduction in dependence on renewable resources. Flint has a firm belief that green construction is not just good stewardship of the earth, it’s good business that can produce significant cost savings related to both energy consumption and the use and reuse of more economical building materials.

Sierra Forever Families | Copper for KidsFlint president, John Stump, serves on the board of Sierra Forever Families, where Flint donates scrap copper that is redeemed for cash and contributed to the Copper for Kids program through Sierra Forever Families. Copper for Kids recycling bins are installed at every Flint project site.

Mustard Seed SchoolFlint supports the Loaves & Fishes, Mustard Seed School program, which helps meet the needs of homeless children. Our renovation of a classroom included a new power

California Raptor CenterFlint donated demolition work and construction of the midflight cage and eagle display for the UC Davis Veterinary Medicine California Raptor Center, where we support The California Raptor Center, an educational and research facility dedicated to the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned birds of prey.

Friends of Folsom Turkey DriveFlint employees donated turkeys for the annual Friends of Folsom Turkey Drive which collected over 4,000 turkeys for local families in need.

Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley Our team worked hard to repair two homes that were damaged from heavy rain the past season. Some sections of the Golden Wagon Wheel Park had seen over 3 feet of flooding.

Camp WinthersFlint is a proud supporter of Camp Winthers. The camp is owned and operated by the San Juan Unified School District with donations and support from the local community. Flint has built and will install five new tent cabins and a dock just in time for the Summer 2018 camp season.
