The program aims at providing the students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that allow
them to:
• Understand the basic human body structures and functions and the mechanisms by
which different diseases alter them.
• Utilize different information sources to upgrade their scientific knowledge with the
ability of self learning , critical appraisal and evaluation
• Become able to diagnose and manage common health problems including provision of
primary preventive measures, and to detect & refer less common diseases to appropriate
health care facilities.
2
• Deal with the patients’ health problems in the context of the individual patients, their
families and the society as a whole following the code of ethics & respecting the
commendable community traditions.
• Share in conducting scientific researches that are directed towards improving community
health status based on the principles of the scientific method and systematic research methodology.
