• What is the background situation you are addressing? Describe the context users are experiencing.
What?
You type in the shop you want and
what country it is in. the app will
then search for all available deals in
that shop. You can then compare
and change the currencies.
Who? This app is for anyone who
wants good deals.
When? Many people who
are on holiday. Or
even when you are
in your home
country and just
looking for deals.
Why? Many people who are on
holiday don’t know what
shops to go and buy
from so they lose money
as the currency is
different. With this app
you type in the area and
it comes up with all
different shops will
deals and prices in all
different currencies.
Where?
Anywhere you
need deals or to
look up different
currencies if you
are on holiday.
Problem
When you are on holiday, you are often in a foreign country therefore not used to the currency therefore could actually be losing money.
You might not know where to shop from.
There could be deals in other shops that you don’t know about.
What specific problem do people encounter in that situation? Use the results from your user research.
• What core question are you addressing with the app?
• Use your key insights statements from your findings during
Scoping to provide evidence that your app is solving a
genuine problem in a different way for users.
When you are on holiday it is hard to keep up
with the currency exchange as it is always
changing therefore you don’t know if you are
actually pending more than you have to the good
deals app is a solution for this.
• Our team, TADK is developing a mobile app to help anyone
who wants a good deal of things. Our app will give you good
deals in what shop you have typed in. You can then compare
shops and change currencies.
Summarise what you have learnt about your users. Remember, these profiles must be based on the real
users you interviewed during scoping.
The results that I have found from the survey is:
80% of people said that they look up good deals in shops.
60% of people that completed my survey said that they would use
this app everyday.
70% o people rated the app 7 or above.
In conclusion the people that completed my survey thought the app
was good and useful.
I have researched that groupon is the only main competitor for our good deals app. However, ours is different because you can change and compare currencies on our good deals app in which you can’t using groupon therefore making it unique from our competitors.
Holiday traveller- “I want to be able to look at good deals
while I am I a different country and I want to be able to
compare my currency to their currency to get the best deals
possible to improve my holiday”.
The screen map below shows the flow of the good deals App:
The next few slides with show the apps
key wireframes of your app’s core
feature.
The images aren’t coming up on the screen but
there are images such as flags and maps and a
picture of the world. And the links are red because I
am doing it at home but once you see the balsamiq
example of the app, you will see that they aren’t
actually.
If you click a
different
language the
same menu
would appear
but in the
language
chosen.

Data Feasibility
Does your app require data or content?
It will require data from shops and currency data. It must also be able to have internet content as well.
Is the content owner happy to share it? We would have to ask the shops for their permission to put their deals on our app so it depends on what they think.
Is there authorization required? Yes.
Technical Feasibility
Is your solution technically possible to build? Yes it is.
Could a professional developer build it in less than 3 months? Yes.
Can you find a simpler solution, using existing technology? Yes it would just need computer data of currencies and shops and also be able to update regularly.
Our team thinks that the holiday
travellers or people just looking for
good deals will be willing to pay
69p as from my survey. However,
to get as much downloads as
possible we are putting the good
deals app as free to download.
Advertise on social media.
Talk about it to people.
Make posters/ information leaflets.
• We skyped a expert just a few weeks back and he thought our idea was very good and unique as there are not many apps like ours. He gave us very positive feedback about our good deals app.
