WHAT IS OUR APP?• Our app is a cinema planner, which will tell you the best time to watch a

movie, the closest cinema for you, whether it be with family or friends i.e. finding the cheapest tickets for a specific day.

• Not only this, our movie will suggest films for you to watch, based on previous watches, and will also show what friends are watching (via Facebook or Twitter), so you can go with them, and our movie planner will help people book tickets.

• There will also be viewer ratings, to help you see which movies are good, and which are trending.

FOR WHO?• Our app is aimed at all ages, as everyone is able to use our user-friendly app

• Also, our app will suggest films, based on your previous watches/age/preferences, so everyone can find it useful.

OUR APP EXPERIENCE• Imagine a person, who wants to watch the brand new movie in the cinema, but

doesn’t know when or where to go.

• They can use the search tool on our app, to try to find the cheapest place to watch a movie, within a 5 mile radius.

• The app can then book tickets for them, and they can go.

• Also if the person wanted some friends to go along with him, our app can help organise the times to go. The entire arrangement can be organised in a few minutes

• We want to make sure that our app is easy to use, and simple for the user to operate.

THE PROBLEM WE ARE SOLVING

• The problem with cinemas nowadays are that you can no longer go there on the spot.

• Suddenly trips to the theatre take planning, checks over the internet, comparing prices and the cinema loses its casual nature.

• Our app will do all that for you and suggest films to you, and keep it easy and peaceful.

• Our app makes booking tickets easier, quicker and cheaper.

How can I find cheap tickets to a movie, in a cheap

and simple way?

Our app is the answer to the question.

SCOPING• Our scoping has helped us understand that people do have problems to arrange cinemas

with their friends. People find it a hassle to buy tickets for them and their friends, for example, people buying the tickets on different days.

• Our app helps combat this problem, as it can connect people through social media, and help book tickets for them as a group, making booking tickets as a group easy and simple.

• Our scoping also helped us understand that people wanted a user-friendly experience, and things to be simple and easy.

• Our app’s focus is a user-friendly experience, which is simple to operate and can be done in minutes. After a stressful day, people do not want to go through the hassle of searching up movies one by one on several different apps/websites.

• Cinema Planner can make choosing a movie, and when and where to watch it, a non-stressful stituation.

Our team, D.A.RK. Networks, is developing a mobile app to help

movie-goers book tickets and find movies in an easy, simple, way.

APPS SIMILAR TO OURS• Similar apps to ours are iMDB, and the Odeon app.

• The Odeon app is similar, but there are a few big differences. Our app helps people meet up together to watch movies, and does most of the work for them. The Odeon app doesn’t offer this. Furthermore, our app will have all cinemas around the area, whereas the Odeon app only has Odeon.

• The iMDB app does not allow you to book tickets on their app. They only review the apps. Our interface will also be veered more towards buying tickets, and going to the cinema with your friends.

THE CORE FEATURE• The core feature of our app is the search method, which can tune your searches to suit

you.

• Our users liked this idea, as they said it made the entire preparation for a movie easier, and cheaper.

Page 11: 9.1 Group 5

USER FEEDBACK• We showed a group of people, aged from 12-50, what our app would look like and how it

would work. We showed them what each page would look like as well.

• Our feedback told us to fill the pages up with less words, as they were too crowded.

• We decided to use this advice so decided to use less words and use a simpler, and cleaner interface.

• The majority of our users also said that the app would be useful to organise movies

Page 12: 9.1 Group 5

FEASIBILITY• Our team has understood that we have crammed a lot of things into our app.

• We do not want our app to be massive in terms of memory.

• This means that a lot of our memory would have to be stored online, and people can access the information by using our app.

• This would mean that our app would have to use the internet.

• Because of this, we wouldn’t really need to focus on the data side of things.

OUR BUSINESS STRATEGY• Our business strategy is a very simple one.

• We want our app to be free, as people will not want to pay for a small firm, who have just released an app.

• This means that money will have to be put in from other sources.

• We thought that advertisements could be a very good idea. People already spend a very long time on phones.

• Very successful apps such as Angry Birds did this when they kicked off.

• Cinema firms such as Odeon and Vue, could pay us, to show their special offers, instead of others.

• Movie makers (like Marvel) could pay us to put their movies in the trending section, or in the user’s suggestions feed.

Page 17: 9.1 Group 5

OUR MARKETING STRATEGY• Marketing is one if the most important segments in a successful app.

• To get our app out to the world, we aim to use social media as the main method.

• Social media is the quickest way to get a message out these days, and we would like to use this to our benefits.

• A Facebook and Twitter page would be created, to spread the message. This would be updated, so it wouldn’t just be a dead, boring page.

• Our app uses social media without even trying. If you login to our app using Facebook, and go to watch a movie, others can see this, and we could have a post/notification telling others that this person is going to the cinema
