Vital Events

TMC White Coat Gala

The TMC Charitable Foundation hosted the second annual TMC White Coat Gala on Saturday, March 25, 2017. The spectacular event attracted nearly 700 attendees and raised more than $470,000 in support of Truman Medical Centers. Master of Ceremonies Kelly Eckerman (KMBC) told the crowd, “We would need a galaxy of stars to highlight everything Truman Medical Centers does for our community.” In addition to sharing three powerful and inspiring patient stories, the event inaugurated the W. Kendall McNabney Heart for Healing Award. Dr. McNabney – recognized nationally as one of the founding fathers of emergency medicine – was the inaugural recipient of the award that now carries his name.

Golf Baby Golf!

Friends of TMC Lakewood “had a blast” on Friday, June 9, at the 11th Annual Golf Baby Golf tournament at WinterStone Golf Course. A benefi t for TMC Lakewood, Golf Baby Golf was a sold-out success, raising more than $172,000 for compassionate care and state-of-the-art medical services for children and families in Eastern Jackson County. Thanks to generous sponsors and donors, more than 90 percent of the proceeds go directly to TMC Lakewood, making it one of Kansas City’s top charity golf tournaments.

Engagement

Each year, the TMC Charitable Foundation offers a range of community and donor engagement events, including Healing Arts Happy Hours and Access to Experts. In addition, the Foundation hosts Third

Thursday Hospital Tours. Go behind-the scenes to learn about the region’s only NanoKnife and how it’s helping cure late-stage pancreatic cancers. Discover why Truman is the best choice for high-risk pregnancies and neonatal care. And be inspired to learn how a recent gift offers Kansas City’s earliest detection – and best hope – for beating lung cancer. With every step and every story, you’ll be inspired by Truman’s vital work on behalf of our community. To learn more, please call 816.404.3430.

Community

We are grateful to the causes and individuals who partner with us to support Truman’s vital mission. In fi scal year 2017, these included Emma and Elle Razi, who organized and hosted a yoga fund-raising event, and Bra Couture KC. Proceeds from Bra Couture assist Truman’s cancer patients who are unable to pay for supplies, such as prosthetics, wigs, and lymphedema garments.
