Disclosure are known for introducing their music videos with a characterised logo of the name of their band and the song title. Here on their well known single ‘F For You’ featuring Mary J Blige, they have continued to do so.

Again, Disclosure are known for creating unique videos that they don’t really possess a role in. In this video they do however when it cam e to editing, they added a simplistic drawing on to their face to highlight yet cover their face. It makes it difficult to see their faces with the lighting used, creating a silhouette, however the thick white line to outline their face creates a unusual look.

There are two versions to this song. One featuring Mary J Blige and another of just the brothers (who created the band) Guy and Howard Lawrence singing it. I decided to choose the video that featured Mary J Blige as I seemed it was more interesting and had a lot more editing details in which I could analysis and discuss. Mary J Blige is introduced in to the video every subtly to no give it away that she contributes to the song and video. The fact she is known for her classic soul/R&B music hits contributes to the uniqueness for the video as you traditionally would collocate these two artists. Again certain parts of her body have been darkened with specific lighting. A medium shot has been used to subtly show her face and outfit.

At this point in the song, the very well known chorus has been played. At 0.44 it shows a shot of which seems to be one of the brothers and MJB but have been character drawn. To me, this enhances the ‘getting lost within the music’ phrase that people tend to say when they are enjoying music. The medium dark shot implies this as their bodies and faces can not be seen but the video doesn’t want the audience to lose touch of who it is.

Through out the second minute of the music video it appears as though Disclosure and MJB are creating the music with there bodies. They have cleverly edited it sop after it has filmed, they have took a shot of MJB dancing and have ‘beats’ and ‘artistic designs’ coming out of her hands and body. They have also done it when Disclosure sing, the lyrics physically appear to come out their mouths. This engages the audiences as the lyrics appear on the screen.

At the end of the video two classic things appear again in which disclosure tend to do a lot in their videos. Here is the famous CD art album work for Disclosure.

People who aren’t even big fans of Disclosure know that even without looking at the name, the classic drawn face is the image of disclosure. On the video at the end it appears to come up. This is done as sort of a promotion on their album. If it appears through out the video and at the end you remember it.
