This will be our 60 th Anniversary year, and we look forward to many celebrations. We want to gather together to celebrate what Aquinas has been and has achieved. Aquinas was voted the best private school in the county for the fourth year in a row. Enrollment has risen to well over 400 students again this year. Our sports programs remain popular, competi- tive and a prominent part of life at Aquinas for students. Spiritual formation continues to be a significant component of the student experience. We have reorganized the vicariates (small faith sharing groups). They are held often and provide a unique opportunity for students to share life experiences in light of their faith. Class retreats are well received and culminate in a week long senior retreat. Academics as always have been important. The implementation of the iPad program has greatly supported the learning proc- ess. As we look for indicators of success academically, Aquinas’ college acceptance is outstanding. 98% of our graduates ap- plied to college and all were accepted. Two students chose to enter the military. We are proud that our graduates were ac- cepted into some of the finest colleges and universities across the country including Princeton, West Point, UCLA, UC Berke- ley, Georgetown, Cornell, Loyola Marymount, Michigan State, Purdue, Florida State, and many others. We are fortunate to mark this anniversary year with a major building project. Initiated through a grant from the Shea Founda- tion, our gymnasium will be renovated, we will add a second science laboratory, and we look to see the building of a perform- ing arts center near the north parking lot. This is a project that we never dreamed possible but through the generosity of John and Dorothy Shea, it has already begun to happen. The project carries with it a nine million dollar price tag. Now, although the Shea’s generosity will bring us over seven million dollars, we will still need to raise one million, eight hundred thousand dollars. We need your help. We cannot do it without you. Please visit our website to learn more. We want to keep the “Aquinas Experience” current and accessible to all those who desire a Catholic high school education. We want to keep you involved so please come to the planned events or just come by for a tour. We would love to see you and share our story because it is a success story and you are part of it. President’s Message

Alumni and Friends,

The 2015-2016 school year marks an exciting time in Aquinas

history. This will be our 60th Anniversary year, and we look

forward to many celebrations. We want to gather together to

celebrate what Aquinas has been and has achieved. Aquinas

was voted the best private school in the county for the fourth

year in a row. Enrollment has risen to well over 400 students again this year. Our sports programs remain popular, competi-

tive and a prominent part of life at Aquinas for students.

Spiritual formation continues to be a significant component of the student experience. We have reorganized the vicariates

(small faith sharing groups). They are held often and provide a unique opportunity for students to share life experiences in

light of their faith. Class retreats are well received and culminate in a week long senior retreat.

Academics as always have been important. The implementation of the iPad program has greatly supported the learning proc-

ess. As we look for indicators of success academically, Aquinas’ college acceptance is outstanding. 98% of our graduates ap-

plied to college and all were accepted. Two students chose to enter the military. We are proud that our graduates were ac-

cepted into some of the finest colleges and universities across the country including Princeton, West Point, UCLA, UC Berke-

ley, Georgetown, Cornell, Loyola Marymount, Michigan State, Purdue, Florida State, and many others.

We are fortunate to mark this anniversary year with a major building project. Initiated through a grant from the Shea Founda-

tion, our gymnasium will be renovated, we will add a second science laboratory, and we look to see the building of a perform-

ing arts center near the north parking lot. This is a project that we never dreamed possible but through the generosity of John

and Dorothy Shea, it has already begun to happen.

The project carries with it a nine million dollar price tag. Now, although the Shea’s generosity will bring us over seven million

dollars, we will still need to raise one million, eight hundred thousand dollars. We need your help. We cannot do it without

you. Please visit our website to learn more.

We want to keep the “Aquinas Experience” current and accessible to all those who desire a Catholic high school education. We

want to keep you involved so please come to the planned events or just come by for a tour. We would love to see you and share

our story because it is a success story and you are part of it.

Thank you for all you have done to support Aquinas and its students.

Exciting Alumni News Alumni Association Meeting &

Preparation for Homecoming

May Johnson (Class of 1988—Pictured far right

above ) received her second Emmy. She is a Senior

Producer for The Voice.

Eric Aguilar (Class of 2015) was chosen to attend

The Festival of Families. This is where Pope

Francis spoke to an estimated 1-million people.

This event was held in Philadelphia on

September 26, 2015.

We had our first Conference Call Meeting on October 23, 2015. This was suggested by Chuck

Street and easier on those Alumni who couldn’t make the meeting in person. We would like to get

more Alumni involved in order to have a successful and memorable Homecoming Event. Below

are items that we discussed:

Tables—Will be set up prior to start of Homecoming

Volunteers—Dr. Brennan has sent out an email to recruit Alumni to volunteer for the Alumni Zone

Food—Anna Duarte has arranged this (Mitlas donated). Alumni will come early to enjoy food and

conversation

Music—Chuck Street will provide

Information Cards—Beth Acueto will have available for each Alumni to complete

Display with Alumni Pictures—Beth Acueto will set this up

Alumni Welcomes—Chuck Street will use the Information Cards to announce who is in attendance

Giveaways (Anniversary T-Shirts and License Plate Holders) - Beth will assign an Alumni to hand

out or we will have Chuck Street pull names out of a basket during the game.

Trip Giveaway—Chuck Street is getting this amazing gift and will announce winner during the 3rd

quarter. Winner must be present .

Our next Alumni Association Meeting will be held on October 7, 2015 at 6:00pm. For those who

can’t make the meeting and want to try the Conference Call an email with information will be sent

out prior to the meeting.
