Click the D6M server & then click the Start button. Login – demoadm/sbo123
Close the Console. Click “No” when prompted.
Click Windows Start button. Log off demoadm
Launch SBO EPM Server if you are going to demo reports from BOE. (Unnecessary if demoing from MOBI)
o Login: demoadm/sbo123
Prior to your demo launch one the reports (see Step 1.4) & query the database. By doing so the reports will run much fasterduring your demo. (That first time you essentially wake up the servers.)
To demo the reports via the SAP BusinessObjects Mobile BI (MOBI) app there a few requirements you must complete on the ipad. Please refer toinstructions from SAP IT.
SAP Apple Mobile website: https://wiki.wdf.sap.corp/wiki/display/applemobile/Home
Requirements to demo the Crystal Reports with MOBI on an ipad against your LDL instance:
Your ipad or iPhone must be registered with SAP AfariaF5 Edge client app installedSAP Mobile BI (MOBI) installedOn the ipad - Settings – General – Configuration Profiles – you must have valid unexpired profiles
If you need help installing any of the above apps on your ipad open an IT support ticket under the PH-MOB component.
1.5.2. Instructions for connecting MOBI to your LDL instance
1.5.2.1. Creating a connection
Connect your ipad to the Internet via a wi-fi connectionLaunch the F5 Edge Client
From the Configuration drop-down choose SAP-VPN-WaldorffTap the Connect buttonEnter your I# as the login ID & enter the current RSA passcode returned by your RSA app or card in the password field
Launch the MOBI app on your ipad or iphoneEnter the offline MOBI password you established if promptedIn the upper right of screen tap either the gear icon or the word Connections
Connection DetailsName: Make the name of the connection your LDL instance’s Request ID #Server URL: Enter the url for ABAP Server (4604 server) on your LDL instance. Note: The url for an instance changes each time youResume an instance after it has been suspended. So you whenever the url changes you will need to update this connection.CMS Name: Enter the server name for the 4604 server – wdflbmt4604Authentication: EnterpriseDefault: you can leave this turned off
Authentication DetailsUser Name: fimuserPassword: sbo123Save Password: set it to On
Launch the ABAP Server (4604 server) from the “My Images” page of the BU Demo Platform wiki
Float the cursor over the top middle of the screen while the LDL is in full-screen mode. Click the “Restore Down” button when the floatingbar appears at the top of the screen.
Once the image has restored down you can see the ip address for the server in the window frame in the upper left corner
e.g. -
So based on this example I would create this connection:
Connection DetailsName: 11065Server URL: http://10.22.251.30:8080CMS Name: wdflbmt4604Authentication: EnterpriseDefault: off
Authentication DetailsUser Name: fimuserPassword: sbo123Save Password: On
When your LDL instance is resumed after being suspended it will be assigned new ip addresses. You will need to update the connection inMOBI with the new ip address for the ABAP server.
While you are performing Pre-Demo steps 1.3 as described above, note the ip address of the ABAP server.
After connecting your ipad to the VPN launch MOBI. Press the Gear icon or Connections.
Tap the Blue arrow for your connectionTap in the Server URL field. Update with the new url for the ABAP serverClick the Done Button
1.5.2.3. Deleting a Connection
To delete a connection in MOBI to a terminated instance follow these steps:
Press the Gear icon or Connections.
Swipe your finger left to right on the connection you wish to deleteThe swipe will cause the Delete button to appear. Tap the Delete buttonClick the Done Button
Tap the connection you createdfor your LDL instance to connectMOBI to it
Remember if you have resumedyour instance after it had beensuspended you will need to updatethe ip address in the connectionon your ipad – see step 1.5.2.2above
In order to appear on MOBI reportsmust be categorized in BOE to eitherthe Corporate\mobile category or thePersonal\mobile category.
The reports have been categorized tothe Corporate\mobile category
IMPORTANT For optimal performance. Run one of each report typeonce before the demo. One of the CR reports, the SalesRevenue report, & the Multi-account report. This will“wake up” the servers used by the reports. Subsequentruns of the report will go MUCH faster.
How to access/demo reports follow
Tap Server buttonWith Home now appearing onthat button you should see the 3CR reports & 2 Webi reportsunder the Corporate category - AllTap Income Statement – BPC CR
Report opens to the Entity &Time Period as it was saved in CR2011.
Even if you want a different entity forthe same time period select the timeperiod or the query will fail with anerror saying it needs login information
To advance to page 2 swipe thescreen from right to left
Process is the same on iPhone as on ipad
There are two Webi Reports that can also be demoed. Thebiggest feature here is the ability to drill on the reports.
Probably best to show one Webi report or theother rather than both so you don’t get draggedinto a discussion of the limitations of one reportvs the other.
You can also drill on Entity(Business Unit) or Time.
When tap on an intermediatelevel like Region or Quarter youare presented with the option todrill back up or to drill furtherdown.
When you tap on a base levelmember you would only get drillup.
If you re-prompt the report bytapping the filter icon in the upperright corner you will be notifiedthe filter will reset the report tothe starting point.
You are presented with a listof the categories in theenvironment.
The applicable categories forthis report are:
o Actualo Current Budgeto Current Forecast
Tap the category you wish to rerun the reportfor rather than the currently selected category.
To change the Currency, tapthe currency filter.
Since we are reporting acrossmultiple entities with varyinglocal currencies the applicablecurrencies for this reportwould be the two globalreporting currencies weestablished in thisenvironment:
o Euroo United States Dollar
After making sections, tap theDone icon.
Tap the currency you wish to rerun the reportfor rather than the currently selected currency.
Tap on the message you justreceived. Subject –Product Analysis – SalesRevenue - BPC
Click the link - Tap to openthe report in SAP BIapplication
The link – Tap to open thereport in browser if clicked ona pc will launch Webi thedefault browser. After theuser logs in it will launch thereport in Webi.
The report opens to its defaultcategory & currency
You also have the ability to drill on the chartRather than drilling on the grid.
You are presented with an optionto Drill Down &/or Drill Updepending on where the selectedslice falls in the hierarchies of theProduct & Entity dimensions.
I can reset the report either bydrilling back up on the dimensionsor by re-prompting the reportwhich will reset the report to itsdefault filters.
You also have the option ofshowing the report -Product Analysis –Multi-Account - BPC
Consider you may want to onlyshow one Webi report or theother so as to avoid gettingpossibly dragged into a discussionduring the demo about limitationsof each report. e.g. -
The Sales Revenue report does not consume a BEx querythus it does not understand BPC’s hierarchies.(properties are used as a work-around on simplehierarchies, it can’t handle complex ones like theACCOUNTP dimension)
The Multi-Account report does consume a BEx query &thus can understand BPC’s hierarchies but Webi doesnot support an integrated drillable chart along with thegrid produced by the BEx query.
1.7. Meta Data Synchronization if you updated descriptions of Entities in BPC Admin Console
Meta Data displayed in the rows of the reports will update automatically the next time you query the database with the report. However, the Entitydescriptions you change in the BPC Administration Console will NOT automatically update the Prompt List in the Income Statement & Balance Sheet. TheHeaders of those reports will also not automatically update.
The steps to update the entity descriptions in Crystal Reports however are quite easy & take no more than 5-10 minutes.
1.7.1.Launch Crystal Reports 2011
For LDL instances - On the SBO EPM Server(4595 Server). Click Start button & chooseCrystal Reports 2011
For Lean Demo Show Room Instances – Launch Crystal Reports 2011 from the shortcut in the Favoritesfolder.
Change the descriptions in the red box to match the descriptions in as you changed them in the BPC Admin Console.
Click Save & Close button.
Save the report
Repeat steps (1.7.2 – 1.7.4) for Balance Sheet – BPC CR.rptThe Operating Report – BPC CR does not require maintenance as there is no Prompt for Entity & the base level entities are displayed in the rows of the report.
1.8. META DATA UPDATE IN BPC ADMIN CONSOLE IF SHOWING WEBI REPORT – PRODUCT ANALYSIS – SALES REVENUE
This report does not use a BEx query. Therefore, it can’t leverage the parent level members of dimension. We worked around this limitation by adding someproperties on the Time, Entity, & Product dimensions. We can do this because those dimensions have simple hierarchies. Because the ACCOUNTP dimensionshierarchy is complex we can’t use this property work-around for that dimension. Thus we have limited the account in this report to Base member “SalesRevenue”. We are not using BEx in this report so that we can have a grid & a chart integrated together in a report where you can drill on either. That ability isNOT supported when Webi is consuming a BEx query.
If you did not make Meta Data changes to the ENTITY & PRODUCT dimension in EPM10_DEMO_PL you do not need to make any updates the report beforeyour demo.
If you made Meta Data changes to the ENTITY & PRODUCT dimension in EPM10_DEMO_PL & you don’t care if the MOBI Sales Revenue report matches yourchanges you just run the report in your demo. It yields a report using the standard Entity & Product descriptions in EPM10_DEMO_PL.
If you made Meta Data changes to the ENTITY or PRODUCT dimension and wish to have the Sales Revenue report match your changes follow the instructionsin steps 1.8.1 – 1.8.3 to synch your report with the changes you made in BPC Admin Console.
Note: No updates are necessary to the Multi-Account report that consumes a BEx query
1.8.1. Update to Entity dimension
This step is only necessary in the following instance;
You changed the Description of these Entities – E01, E02, E03 & you want the MOBI reports to show the new descriptions rather than the standarddescriptions.
In BPC Admin, update the REGION property of Entity dimension for the BASE members that roll-up to those 3 Parent level members. Change the value infor each Base member to be the same as the Description for the Parent it rolls up to in PARENTH1.
Now for example let’s say you change the description of E01 to Americas & E02 to EMEA.
If you want the Webi report to also use those descriptions (and not the ones shown above) change the Base Members REGION property to match thechange. So in this example you would change the members whose region shows North America to Americas. Change the ones who show Europe to EMEA.
1.8.2. Update to Product Dimension
This step is only necessary in the following instance:
You want the Base member products to roll-up to something other than Product A, Product B, Product C
Similar to with Entities change the Product Group Properties of the Base members to what you want them to roll up.
1.8.3. Update the Total Level Descriptions in the Webi Report
Because Webi without using BEx can’t retrieve E00 & P00 the top level members of the Entity & Product dimensions instead on the report they are displayed aslocal Report Totals that add up the amounts in the columns & rows. To update the descriptions to match what you changed the descriptions of E00 & P00 in theBPC Admin Console you need to update the totals on the Webi Report.
