WORKSHOP CHOICES KILDARE AND LEIGHLIN DIOCESAN EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS

A Place at the TableOur Congress theme invites us to consider our place at the Eucharistic Table, the

Table of the Lord. This theme provokes many and varied issues of theology and

justice, of liturgy and spirituality, of the personal and the institutional, all of which

may affect who we are as Church today. Each of us is encouraged to ask how do I

hear the invitation to be present at this table, how do I occupy my place? It is likely

that we all have different responses to these questions. Yet, we must remember that

the invitation comes from Christ and is for all.

In the year of the International Eucharistic Congress in Dublin, we remember that

the Communion to which we are called is ‘Communion with Christ and with One

Another’. Given this call, what are its implications for our own place at the Table

and for our relationships with Christ and with one another?

The Diocesan Eucharistic Congress will give us an opportunity to explore these and

many other questions as we listen to the keynote speakers, engage with and

reflect on the many themes offered by the workshops and gather in prayer together.

I hope that you will accept the invitation to come to the Diocesan Congress and

consider your place at the table. This time of reflection, discussion and prayer is

designed to help us prepare in a very special way for the International Congress in

June. May it be a time of abundant grace and blessings for us all.
