1. SUMM.t.RY a. The 7th Harine Regiment was i~ contact w1 th the
enemy during the period from 1-16 November. Opposing enemy forces consisted of elements of the llSth and ll9th Divisions of the 40th CCF Army. Specifically, the 345th Regiment ot the ll8th Pivision faced us on the left and the 357th Regiment of the 119th P1 vision on the 'right w1 th the llmi ting point between them in the vicinity of ,CT 083099. On 11 November the 353rd Regiment of the llBth Division replaced the 354th Regiment. The enemy continued his active defense of the area. Construction and improvement of tunnel t;we emplacements, personnel shelters and communication-sup9ly trenchlines were noted,· particularly in enemy forward areas. Small probes, ambusl::l1ng of friendly patrols and minor attacks on friendly outposts, all taking place during darkness characterized enemy activity. A. total of 1,593 rounds of miXed a1•tillery and mortar fell in the 7th ~1arine sec tor.
b, Puring the period 1-16 ·November, 1952, the 7th Marine Regiment was assigned the mission of occupying, defending, and continuing improvement of The l>!LR, Llne Jamestown. All three battalions were initially on line with the 2nd on the left an6. the lst on the rig.'lt. At 032345I, the right battalion was relievec. on position by elements of the 1st Comlllonweal th Ill vision and the regimental boundary we.s adjusted accordingly. (See- lncl 2 to Appendix III). Relief on poei tion of the 7th Marine Regiment by the 1st Marine Regiment began on 15 November

and was completed 161056I. Relief of ,battalions on line was accomplished at night. At 152230I the 1st l3n of the let Marine Regiment relieved the 2nd En of the_ 7th Marine B.egiment. _.A.t 160945I the 2nd lBn of the lst Marine Regiment relieved the let Bn of the 7th Marine Regiment. At l62300I the 3rd Bn of the 1st Marine Regiment relieved the 3rd in
·of the 7th Marine Regiment. _At 161130I the 4. 2 Co of the lst Marine Regiment relieved the 4.2 Co of the 7th Marine Regiment. At 161215I the Anti-Tan1~ Co of the lst Marine Regiment relieved the Anti-Tank Co of the 7th Marine Regiment. Upon relief, the regime11t (minus 2ndin) executed a tactical w1 thdrawal on foot tQ Line Kansas in order to test the e!"!'ecti veness of our·ren t w1 thdrawal plans. Line Kansas was occupied overnight. The 2nd lilattallon w1 thQr>ew divectly to a rear atag1ng area and departed on 17 November, 1952 to participate in an amphibious mrneuver; Marlex 10.
~ring the period 17-30 November, 1952, the ~ssion of the 7th Marine Regiment was to conduct training and that of constructiou and 1mprove-.t of Line Kansa111, 111 th the maximum effort directed te'ltard work on the Kansas Line. :Paily rear area patrols '1t7& eonducted.
On 8 November_; 19$2 ant air draft of 17 USN enlisted corpsmen was received and on 9 November, 1952 a surface draft of 23 USMO off1cera. 4@4 USMC enUsted and 38 USN enlisted corp111men wa.e reM1ved. iloth of these drafts received a five (5) daY period of indoctrination training prior to assignment to respective units.
Mail was received a~d distributed. ~he regimental newspaper "The Ridgerunner• was published and distributed daily. ~ally briefings were held while the regiment was on the line and as necessary in veserve.

The 2ndliln participated in a Marine Landing :S:xerci se (Marl ex 10). I ntelllgence and Communications schools were conducted on a regimental level.
