As I have said before, I want the committees to be very much involved in all aspects of the running of the club this year as I feel we can only benefit from the great ideas of many. Involvement from every member is one of my goals for the year as long as we all have maximum fun along the way. Our board members for the year: Club Administration Carol McKenzie, Club Visibility Mark Thompson, Club Membership Brenton Oates, Rotary Foundation Lindsay Davis, New Generations Mina Ward and Service Projects Ronda Grigg, all took their committees for 20 minutes where they discussed all things Rotary that will hopefully guide us in the right direction this year. From the briefings we heard from each group I am confident we are heading in the right direction. I was a little late getting the committees back to give their discussions which meant our new Sergeant’s Game had to be postponed until next week (another fine for me), but she had a few great fines to kick the year off so well done Kirsty. She promises the game will be a doozie so watch out!! Our Youth Exchange student should have arrived by the time you read this so keep an eye out for Carlo Montanelli at our next meeting and make him feel welcome. I am sure we will all get to know him extremely well during his year here with us and we will all share some fantastic memories with him. Lastly....... a reminder that our first big event, our Quiz Night is less than a month away on August the 4 th . Let’s get the year off to a flying start by making this a huge success. I would love to see each member get a table of 10 together so we get as big a donation as possible for Can Do For Kids. See you Tuesday, President Greg Schuetze

Meeting Number 781, the first for the New Rotary

Year was one where we were able to break out

into our new committees and discuss the year

ahead. As I have said before, I want the

committees to be very much involved in all

aspects of the running of the club this year as I

feel we can only benefit from the great ideas of

many. Involvement from every member is one of

my goals for the year as long as we all have

maximum fun along the way.

Our board members for the year: Club

Administration – Carol McKenzie, Club Visibility –

Mark Thompson, Club Membership – Brenton

Oates, Rotary Foundation – Lindsay Davis, New

Generations – Mina Ward and Service Projects –

Ronda Grigg, all took their committees for 20

minutes where they discussed all things Rotary

that will hopefully guide us in the right direction

this year. From the briefings we heard from each

group I am confident we are heading in the right

direction.

I was a little late getting the committees back to

give their discussions which meant our new

Sergeant’s Game had to be postponed until next

week (another fine for me), but she had a few

great fines to kick the year off so well done Kirsty.

She promises the game will be a doozie so watch

out!!

Our Youth Exchange student should have arrived

by the time you read this so keep an eye out for

Carlo Montanelli at our next meeting and make

him feel welcome. I am sure we will all get to

know him extremely well during his year here

with us and we will all share some fantastic

memories with him.

Lastly....... a reminder that our first big event, our

Quiz Night is less than a month away on August

the 4th

. Let’s get the year off to a flying start by

making this a huge success. I would love to see

each member get a table of 10 together so we get

as big a donation as possible for Can Do For Kids.

See you Tuesday,

President Greg Schuetze

MARK THIS DATE DOWN IN YOUR DIARIES

Please start thinking about some cunning way in which you can extract prizes for this year’s quiz

from someone that you do business with.

All commercial donors will be listed and distributed throughout the venue.

Noel Speck has agreed to MC again this year, despite his move to Murray Bridge.

Maybe you can also be table captain for a table of 10.

See attached flyer and use it to go begging for prizes.

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of a worthy enterprise and in particular to encourage and foster

The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.

High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying by every Rotarian of their occupation as an opportunity to serve

society.

The application of the ideal service by every Rotarian to their personal, business and community life.

The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional people united in the ideal of service.

The Four Way Test of the things we think, say or do:

Is it the truth? Is it Fair to all concerned?

Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

For good food, good fellowship And the opportunity to serve through Rotary

…we give thanks.
