Various activities and competitions are organised on Constitution Day, Vigilance Awareness week, Unity Day, Voters Day etc. to imbibe these values, rights, duties and responsibilities towards the nation. The institute also celebrates Gandhi Jayanti every year and embodies the values and lessons he has taught us towards our responsibility towards the community and nation The institute conducted awareness programs on the ban on plastics, cleanliness, Swachh Bharat, etc. involving students. Major Initiative during last five years- REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS JIMS Kalkaji, celebrated 71st Republic Day of Indian Constitution with unprecedent patriotic fervor on Jan 25, 2020. The event was organised by the members of the JIMS- NSS (National Service Scheme). The event started with swearing-in ceremony of the Preamble by all present in the auditorium. Followed by patriotic song singing by Mr Anmol, sung in choir by all present in auditorium. Then Ms Aarti shared a patriotic poetry on Indian Soldiers, which was heart-touching. The event ended with singing of National Anthem.

INDEPENDENCE DAY: CELEBRATIONS
Be it for the flag hoisting ceremony, Poetry competition, slogan recitation or performing cultural
events on Independence Day, every year, JIMS Kalkaji celebrates the occasion with zeal and
excitement. This year, however, the ceremonies and programmes were organised with a „virtual‟
twist.
Ensuring that the feeling of patriotism lives on, JIMS Kalkaji celebrated Independence Day live
on Google Meet with same patriotic fervour on Aug 14, 2020. The event was organised by the
members of the JIMS- NSS Club. All the faculties, staff and students assembled at a common
Google Meet Link. Even in these difficult times of Covid-19, students celebrated the occasion
with great pomp. Channelizing the creativity of students, three events were organized -
1. Digital Poster with Slogan Writing Contest – Theme – Tribute to COVID Warriors
2. Debate on the topic – “Strategic Role of India in Changing Dynamics on Global Front”
3. Patriotic Poetry recitation competition

Finally, the event concluded with flag hoisting ceremony by the respected Director sir, Dr Ashok
Sharma in the premises of institute where staff and Faculty members assembled keeping in view
the guidelines of Social Distancing. National Anthem was played and everyone expressed
gratitude towards the warriors of the country then and now.

VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK
JIMS, Kalkaji observed its ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ from 27th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020. The Vigilance Awareness Committee along with NSS Unit of the college conducted Integrity pledge, a workshop by Dr. Rashmi Bhatia, Program Director and several Intercollege Competitions such as Debate Competition, Poster making Competition, Slogan making Competition and e quiz on the topic "Satark Bharat Samriddh Bharat". Students from various colleges enthusiastically participated in the competitions and depicted their interests in building a corruption free society.

INTEGRITY PLEDGE
JIMS, Kalkaji observed its ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ from 27th October 2020 to 2nd November
2020. The Vigilance Awareness Committee of the College conducted pledge on 27th October
2020. The pledge was successfully taken by all the faculties and staff by displaying the same on
the board to maintain social distance.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
A Faculty Development Program was organised on the ‘Importance and role of Vigilance
at Workplace’ by Dr. Rashmi Bhatia, Program Director, JIMS, Kalkaji for the faculties and
staff of JIMS, Kalkaji on 28th October’2020. Dr. Rashmi urged all present to be sensitive
towards ethical practices and support the fight against corruption to realize this year's
theme "Vigilant India, Prosperous India." All the faculty members and staff attended this
session and discussed the significance of Vigilance at workplace by giving live examples
on the theme.

DEBATE COMPETITION ON CORRUPTION
An Online Inter-College Debate Competition on the topic ‘Public Vigilance alone can
stem corruption’ and ‘Does inefficiency alone constitute corruption’ on 29th October,
2020 was organized by Vigilance Committee along with NSS, JIMS, Kalkaji under the
supervision of Dr. Rashmi Bhatia, Program Director. Students from different colleges
enthusiastically participated in the competition. The time limit given to each team was 5
minutes where they had to speak in favour of or against the both the topics. All the
participants performed well and presented relevant points on their topic.
Akansha Bhargav of BBA (M) IIIrd year of JIMS, Kalkaji won the first prize, Aditya
Mishra of B.SC IIIrd year of Motilal Nehru College won the second prize and Priya Suman
of Economics IInd year of Indraprastha college for women won the third prize. The
debate was successfully conducted depicting the ill effects of corruption and its methods
