    Fast Facts about the Inca EmpireThe Inca Empire was located on the western side of South America,

    along the Pacific coast and the Andes, from the northern border of

    what is today Ecuador to the Maule river in Chile. The capital of the

    Inca Empire wasCuzco. The Empire was huge and it was divided into

    three geographical regions - mountains, jungle, and desert.The man who established the Inca Empire was Manco Capac in 1438.

    He was a powerful warrior. After him, there were thirteen emperors

    during the time when the Inca Empire existed.

    The official language of the Inca was Quechua.

    The Incas were warriors, but they were also farmers. Their pottery was

    simple, practical and beautiful.

    The major Inca god was the god of nature, Viracocha, the creator.

    Another god was Inti, the sun god.
