Welcome to the 6th International Archean Symposium presented by the not-for-profit organization Geoconferences (WA), marking the sixth in a series that began in 1970. The 6IAS is the premier

international symposium dedicated to Precambrian geoscience, with a specific focus on the Archean. It is designed to promote discussion and communicate the latest concepts, methodologies and

technologies relevant to unlocking the secrets of the Precambrian to all geoscientists.

Hosted in the beautiful city of Perth, Western Australia, the 6IAS will benefit from being located in one of the global capitals of the mineral industry. Like previous Archean symposia, the 6IAS will pro-vide an excellent opportunity to network in the collegial atmosphere that has developed between

industry, government and academic professionals from around the globe.

Target 2020: Targeting for a New Era of Discovery

he Target 2020 conference will be held at the Uniclub at the University of Western Australia on 17 July 2020 in Perth, Western Australia following the 6th Archean International Symposium.

After the great success of Target 2017, Geoconferences is organising Target 2020 in collaboration with the Centre for Exploration Targeting to showcase innovations developed to aid the discovery of new tier-one deposits and broaden the exploration search space under cover. Target 2020 will focus on all aspects of mineral exploration and provide a unique opportunity to workshop solutions to the mineral industry challenges that lie ahead.

We expect more than 250 attendees from both the Australian and international mineral exploration community, including executives, professionals, researchers and university students. The technical program will consist of a plenary format and multiple poster sessions, impacting multi-commodity exploration from the regional greenfield scale through to camp scale. The program will emphasise: (i) Key research outcomes that impact our understanding of Mineral Systems and the derived exploration strategies; (ii) Data integration, interpretation and key exploration targeting inputs; and (iii) Improved targeting strategies and methodologies.
