Register with Student Finance Wales (SFW) They’ll give you a Customer Reference Number (CRN) which you’ll need for your OU registration. Download your Part-Time Tuition Fee Loan application online at www.studentfinancewales.co.uk/ part-time-students Visit the SFW website to find out if you’re eligible for a Part-Time Tuition Fee Loan and to download your application form. This will need to be printed, completed and returned to Student Finance Wales with any documentation they require. Take care to complete your form correctly Take care to apply for the right year of loan support which is dictated by the start date of your qualification. Please speak to us or SFW if you are unsure. You’ll also need to ensure you read and sign the declaration on the back of the form. This is important as without signing the declaration your loan will not be confirmed. We recommend you apply for your Part-Time Tuition Fee Loan as soon as possible It can take 6–8 weeks for your application to be processed and your loan should be approved and in place before your study commences. Student Finance Wales may ask you for supporting documentation Keep in touch with SFW and ensure you provide all the necessary information needed so they can process your application. Complete your OU registration You must give us your SFW CRN and get your loan in place to complete your registration. You can give us your CRN online at www.openuniversity.co.uk/studenthome or over the phone. When you give us your CRN, you’ll agree to pay your fees and your place will be reserved. You must let us know if your loan application is declined or withdrawn as you will be liable for the cost of your modules. SFW will send you an Entitlement Letter to confirm your loan Keep a look-out for this very important document and keep it in a safe place. If you haven’t signed the declaration on your application, SFW will also send you a Student Finance Declaration Form to sign and return to complete your application. Without it your Tuition Fee Loan will not be confirmed and your fees will remain unpaid. Don’t miss the enrolment deadline! If you’re planning to start study in October 2015 you need everything in place by 10 September 2015. If you’re planning to start study in February 2016 you need everything in place by 7 January 2016.
