3. PURPOSE: Measure the VSWR and LOSSES due to RF cables and waveguide
4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS:
STANDARD TOOL: SWR/LOSSES METER WILTRON S331 or Equivalent1 S band transition wave guide- coax
5. INSTRUCTIONS:
TEST TO BE PERFORMED ONLY DURING THE INSTALLATION PERIOD
All VSWR measurement should be performed in rotationSWITCH OFF THE TRANSMITTER.
5.1 VSWR MEASUREMENT
5.1.1 Wave guide (aircraft low beam)
Perform the following instructions
Above the microwave assembly, separate the wave guide from the microwave assembly output, and fix a transitionon the aerial wave guide
Connect the TEST EQUIPMENT output on the waveguide transition
Calibration
Set the polarization on circular
Switch on the SITE MASTER, program the start frequency to 2700 Mhz and the stop frequency to 2900 MHz.
Connect the test cable to the PORT TEST of the SITE MASTER and perform CALIBRATION following instructionson the screen.
Select the markers on F1 and F2 and choose the automatic scale.
Measurement
Connect the test cable to the waveguide transition.(15-16) Select the SWR mode and perform a continuous measurement for the two frequencies.
Save the measurement and transfer it on a PC to be printed.(17-18) Repeat the measurements on linear polarization.
5.1.2 Coaxial cables (aircraft high beam and both weather beams )
The measurement should be performed on both circular and linear polarization
On Microwave Assembly, disconnect the coaxial cable of the tested channel and connect the SITE MASTER to thiscable.
(19 to 30) Repeat the previous procedure for aircraft high beam and weather beams (options)

5.2 LOSSES MEASUREMENT
Switch the transmitter and the antenna rotation off.
5.2.1 Wave guide (aircraft low beam)
Calibration

Connect the test cable to the PORT TEST of the SITE MASTER and perform CALIBRATION following instructionson the screen.

Open the waveguide line above the rotating joint and close the waveguide by a flat metallic plate.(31-32) Select the CABLE LOSS mode and perform a continuous measurement for the two frequencies.

3. PURPOSE: Check the power supply cabinet, safeties
4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS: None
5. INSTRUCTIONS:
Local power control:
Put the AE2000 cabinet in Local mode Switch off the TMR-PC (both channel), IBIS, LTM and DPC-PC (both channel) to avoid any power supply failure due
to the emergency stop
Push the emergency stop and check the general switching off.(39) Release the emergency stop and check that the switching on is performed after pushing the ON switch.
- The radar station is available for operation after a 5 minutes delay max.- The radar station is configured as before the shutdown of the station.
RCMS power control (remote):
Switch off the TMR-PC (both channel), IBIS and DPC-PC (both channel) to avoid any power supply failure due tothe emergency stop
Put the AE2000 cabinet in Remote mode
On RCMS, select ANCILLARIES box
Select POWER DISTRIBUTION box
Select Radar Control
Switch off the AE2000 cabinet from the RCMS LTM or STM.
Check that the radar switch off except the RCMS LTM, the WAGO, the RCMS modem (Optional) and the LocalDisplay.
(40) Switch on with the RCMS LTM or STM and check the return of the power on all radar equipment
- The radar station is available for operation after a 5 minutes delay max.- The radar station is configured as before the shutdown of the station.

3. PURPOSE: Check the aerial safeties.
4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS: None
5. INSTRUCTIONS:
5.1 Antenna Speed rotation
On the CBP RSM 970S CIRIUS of the master channel:
Select the menu Main measurements/Antenna rotation period per scan
(41) Note the display measurement.
5.2 Antenna Turntable
(42) Check the siren is working before antenna rotation.
(43-44) Check the antenna can be run by a dual motors or a single motor drive:Stop antenna rotation and restart successively with motor 1 and motor 2.
(45) Check good operation of a motor overheat switch of each drive motor on antenna control cabinet.
For AA2000-NGB
To simulate a motor overheat, disconnect successively on antenna control cabinet the points TB 2.17 (motor 1) andTB 2.19 (motor 2). Each time, observe stop of motor.
For AA2000-A (Automaton)To simulate a motor overheat, disconnect successively on antenna control cabinet the points TB 3.18 (motor 1) andTB 3.20 (motor 2). Each time, observe stop of motor.
(46) Check brake to prevent the aerial from rotating during maintenance.After stop antenna rotation, activate the brake and observe that the start of antenna rotation is not possible.
(47) When the emergency breaker of the antenna platform is pushed, check that the rotation is stopped.
(48) Check rotation is prevented when antenna door access is open.
For AA2000-A (Automaton), you must disconnect the safety key from the front panel to open the access door.
(49) Verify there are no oil leaks.

3. PURPOSE: Check the presence of azimuth reference pulses (ARP) and azimuth clock pulses (ACP), and the voltageof encoder power supply.
4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS:

5. INSTRUCTIONS:
5.1. Azimuth Reference Pulses and Azimuth Clock Pulses distribution.
(50) Check the presence of ARP and ACP by inserting a flat cable on connector P35 located on rear TMR panel
P35: ACP+: pin 1 ARP+: pin 3 ACP+: pin 7 ARP+: pin 9ACP-: pin 2 ARP- : pin 4 ACP- : pin 8 ARP-: pin 10
Perform the same measurements for both channels.
5.2. ARP Alignment
Connect the Oscilloscope on pin 3 and pin 9 of P35 connector of same TMR (A or B)(51) Check that time difference between both ARP is less than one ACP.
5.3. Power supply.
(52) In the TOM cabinet, measure the voltage +5V and +15V on both encoder power supply.

2. TESTED FUNCTION: TRANSMITTED SIGNAL POWER
3. PURPOSE: Check nominal power.
4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS:
STANDARD TOOL: Peak power meter 8900C or Equivalent
5. INSTRUCTIONS:
On the Microwave assembly, disconnect output of DC5 coupler (N plug)(DC5 is the 1st coupler after transmitter output).
Connect the peak power meter to this output.
Switch thumb wheel RC1 of GRA interface board (TFH 343) to 4 (F1 frequency) and switch on the transmission.(53) Measure the signal peak power (Pc).
The transmitted peak power Pe = Pc + Att(Att = DC5 coupler attenuation + Attenuator 10dB)
(54) Perform again the measurement with GRA interface board (TFH 343) RC1 thumb wheel GRAswitched to 5 (F2 frequency).
(55) Stop antenna rotation, check the safety chain led is on (front board TGE 233 (primarytransmitter SST2000) and the transmission is off.
Repeat the test on Channel B
6. PUTTING IN NORMAL CONDITION:
Put back the equipment in normal configuration. The interface board thumb wheel has to be switched to 0.

5.1 VSWR MEASUREMENT
Perform the following instructions
Switch on the SITE MASTER, program the start frequency to 1000MHz and the stop frequency to 1100MHz.
Connect the test cable to the PORT TEST of the SITE MASTER and perform CALIBRATION following instructionson the screen.
Select the markers on 1030Mhz and 1090Mhz and choose the automatic scale.
Measurement
Connect the test cable to the coaxial cable of the channel.(100-101) Select the SWR mode and perform a continuous measurement.
Save the measurement and transfer it on a PC to be printed.
( 102 to 105) repeat the measurements on and channel .

MANUAL SWITCHING
- Set the Channel 1 On-Line (to antenna)
- Request a switching via CBP RSM970S CIRIUS terminal or LTM and check that channel 2 is On-Line. The switchingis possible only from the channel TO LOAD.
Procedure:
From the CBP:- Select Command- Select Commands to radar- I/R Channel switchover- Send
From the LTM:- ON THE CHANNEL TO LOAD.- Open CONFIGURATION page- Modify CONFIGURATION STATE from TO LOAD to ANTENNA
(207) Check the result on LTM and CBP and switch back to channel 1.
AUTOMATIC SWITCHING
- Set both channels in operational.- Set Channel 1 on-line (to antenna).- On the channel on-line disconnect J8 on the driver (local oscillator)
(208) Check there is an alarm on Channel 1.- Channel 1 AVAILABLE = NO- Channel 2 CONFIGURATION STATE: TO LOAD- Channel 1 CONFIGURATION STATE: TO ANTENNA
- Reconnect plug J8, make a reset failure and check that channel 2 stay On line.

Operated in the same way for switching from channel 2 to channel 1(In the TOM cabinet, disconnect the cable W117 from the multi-socket MA N2)

(211) / Then press and select Reference Time (valid with OK)
Select Info GPS(OK) and GPS position(OK) and note the following information:
- Latitude- Longitude
- Altitude (use or to change the unit)
(212) / Then press esc and select GPS satellites and note the following information:
- Number of satellite IN VIEW- Number of Satellite GOOD
(213) / Test on IBIS
Then check on IBIS the presence of time stamping on tracks for channel 1
Repeat the test on channel 2.
