Broadsword Dark Age of Camelot 5v5 Mordred Tournament
(incomplete draft)Tournament Plan and Design Document
The goal of this document is to specifically outline and explain
in detail the rules, regulations, and overall goals of the 5v5
tournament.
Tournament ScheduleNo date and time is set yet, but it will be
held on a Saturday afternoon to allow players from all regions to
compete. A specific time will be given to each team on the day of
the tournament. Teams have 5 minutes to reach their designated
location (which will be specifically outlined on available maps).
Failure for all members to reach the location after the 5 minute
timer will result in immediate disqualification (teams with less
than 5 can NOT compete). The entire tournament bracket and schedule
of all teams will be made public for viewing purposes. The
tournament will also be hosted on DAoCs Official Twitch
channel.Summary of wants/needs: Tournament to be held on a single
Saturday afternoon to include availability for DAoCs varied time
zones. Streamed by dev. Schedule viewable at least one month in
advance by everyone.RegistrationTBDSummary of wants/needs: There
will be an end date of all teams wishing to participate to register
by. A registered team can contain up to 6 members, with the sixth
member acting as a bench player to be subbed in at the teams
convenience (between fights). Team members and their classes must
be registered at the register date and are afterwards unchangeable.
If a team ends up with less than 5 members by tournament day, they
are disqualified.
Characters and MigrationCharacters will need to be migrated from
Ywain to Pendragon for the tournament. Templates are up to the
players. You will need to create your template on Ywain and migrate
it with your character for the event. This means cross-realm
templates will be unavailable, although most items now are
available to all realms. Any item or template available on Ywain
(including RoGs) are valid for the tournament. For the tournament,
all characters on Pendragon will be set to Realm Rank 11L0
regardless of their rank when transferred. Skill, realm, Master
Level, and Champion Level respecs will be freely available.
Summary of wants/needs: Character transfers from Ywain to
Pendragon. Any working template from Ywain is accepted for the
event. Including any RoG items. The tournament to be held with all
participating characters boosted to Realm Rank 11. Pendragon to
give transferred characters easy access to Realm Rank 11.Victory
and Disqualification ConditionsThe event will be a
single-elimination bracket tournament. Two teams will face off
against one another, with the winning team moving on while the
losing team is disqualified. Summary of wants/needs:
Single-elimination, unless signups are so small that double
elimination is more realistic.Group Setups and Class
AvailabilityAll classes and setups will be available with no
restrictions. Some classes are glaringly stronger than others,
while some can fill a creative niche role. Limiting any one class
suppresses player and setup creativity. Due to a FFA ruleset
tournament, no classes will be excluded, leaving teams free to form
what they think may be the most powerful or most fun group of five.
Groups with multiples of the same class are acceptable.
Additionally, all specs, Master Levels, and Champion Abilities for
each class are acceptable.Summary of wants/needs: No class
restrictions in any team of 5. Multiples of the same class in a
single team allowed. Any spec, ML abilities, CL abilities
allowed.Buffs, buff bots, pots, and buff chargesIdeally, the Realm
Enhancement NPC would give players capped (shearable) buffs for the
event (excluding magic resist buffs, endurance buffs, power regen
buffs, health regen buffs). In-group magic resists are limited to
the groups makeup and Champion Abilities. If a capped NPC buffer is
unavailable, then buff bots will be allowed. Buff charges (from
items), celerity charges, endurance pots (up to Strong Invigs), and
heal pots are allowed. Additionally, heroism pots are also allowed,
although Supremacy and Comprehension pots are banned.
Summary of wants/needs: An NPC buffer at the rally points of
each arena that provides capped, shearable base buffs and spec
buffs (Str/Con & Dex/Qui). Unshearable buffs like Spec AF or
Haste can only be received by in group classes with these abilities
or charges. Supremacy pots banned. Comprehension pots banned. All
other pots and charges allowed.

Group B starts just outside of Tir Na Nogs North Gate. Once the

allowed the environment to factor into battles. Remove all mobs
from all zones. Place pet mobs at each teams rally point that are
obtainable before teams leave the rally point. Simultaneous
battles. 3 or more at once depending on the number of participants.
Will need additional Knight help in supervision.

Trophy A trophy to place in your house (for each member) 1-month
subscription timecard (for each member) 50 plat (for the entire
team)Summary of wants/needs: A spectacular in game reward to kick
the tournament off would be a great way to make this a big
community event, which is why special weapons are the top prize.
Weapons would not be so extremely powerful that they would be
unfair, but just a slight improvement based on the chosen players
class. These weapons could be overshadowed by future content
releases and/or replaced by the next tournaments weapons if
successful. All in all, only 5 players total will have these
5v5-tailored event weapons. Mounts and titles to show off that you
fought hard in the tournament and achieved a high rank!
