(Pastor’s Notes Continued form page 1)
Much like Easter our routines of Mass will, in some cases, be interrupted by these special blessings we will receive in participating in the growing life of the Church. St. Lucy Parish continues to be blessed by an ever growing number of children and families seeking their First Holy Communion and yet it also comes with a challenge for many of these families. How do they and we continue to be engages in the faith?
There is one answer to this question: we must continue to invite and welcome. It is the gift of hospitality and welcome we must choose to live as members of the Body of Christ. We each know a person or family that chooses not to celebrate the Eucharist in becoming a living member of God’s Holy Catholic Church. Our call as Christian disciples is to reach out in hospitality and welcome.
This is only possible when we have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We cannot walk the path of holiness un-less we seek to know Jesus more and more in our daily lives. So, let us take time to pray for these young children and their family. Take time to invite those who have fallen away to re-engage in their faith journey. Take time to learn about our faith more deeply by signing up for formed.org using our parish code (found on the parish website, it’s free).
God bless, Fr. Mark

Children’s Faith Formation / Formación de Fe para Niños
Teen Faith Formation Are you being called to serve the youth? Hello, my name is Patty Osorio and I am the Youth Minister here at St. Lucy Par-ish. I’m not the only youth minister. Did you know we are all called to help educate our youth and lead each and every one of them closer to Christ? I believe our youth are our most important treasure. In this community we should all share a common goal— evangelizing children and teens to become active, productive, and happy contributing community members. Many of our teens need individualized attention and YOU have had varied experiences that can help our youth. I’m in need of volunteers to help me in ways that will allow me to provide more personal assistance to the youth. Our Parish volunteers (Core Leaders) support our teens and our parish. My job is to help and empower YOU to evangelize the youth. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer at our parish, I would be delighted to hear from you. There are many different ways volunteers can assist in our programs, depending on your special abilities or interests. We can discuss the volunteer program in more detail, simply contact me and I can meet you individually.
On behalf of our teens, our current volunteers and the entire Parish, I thank you for considering the joyous ministry of working with our future Church.
In Jesus’ Peace, Patty Osorio, Coordinator of Youth & Evangelization
