CEE Private Equity and Venture Capital Group

If you, like many other private equity practitioners, are facing challenges and tough competition with delivering the most effective fundraising, transactional and post-investment growth strategies, then you should register to attend C5’s flagship CEE Private Equity Forum.

100+ GPs, LPs, banks, private debt providers and industry partners make this event a priority in their calendar. Throughout two days packed with interactive investor-led debates and the latest case studies, networking meetings and cocktails, you will leave the forum with a multitude of new contacts and knowledge to generate superior, risk-adjusted returns for investors.

5 reasons to attend and send your team members to this event:

✶ Learn how to meet increasingly tough fundraising criteria from cautious LPs✶ Get commercial and legal tips compiled from the experiences of the region’s most successful investors✶ Identify investment opportunities and discover potential issues that can be avoided well in advance✶ Mitigate tax and financial risks associated with the target businesses by putting the scrutiny of valuations

into your pipeline✶ Achieve operational value creation and grow your EBITDA margins through top-line growth

Add extra value by signing up to an intensive post-forum Workshop:

Impact Investment: How to Master the New Force in the CEE Private Equity Space

Private Equity in the CEE region is reaching a tipping point, so now it is more important than ever to understand current market sentiment; to benchmark your strategies against the market leaders; to avoid costly mistakes when preparing for exits; to build strong relationships with LPs planning to increase their exposure to CEE and GPs seeking a unique access to the pool of investors.

We look forward to welcoming you at the forum,

10.15 The Case for CEE Private Equity: Recent Performance and Future Prospects

Robert ManzManaging Partner, Enterprise Investors

Brian WardropManaging Partner, ARX Equity Partners

Neil HarperManaging DirectorMorgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners

Til BurgesPrincipal, HarbourVest Partners

This session will open a frank and lively debate among the experienced LPs who took their time to understand the region, and GPs who have few vintages under their belts on how they “explain away” the underperformance of the most recent cycle of vintages both in terms of returns and in terms of deploying capital. The region’s advocates will provide honest answers and then try to make a case on why they believe that the next cycle will be better

• How are the institutional portfolios evolving? How has your allocation to CEE private equity changed in the last five years?

• Core issues with CEE in the eyes of LPs: what answers do LPs want to hear from CEE-focused GPs before committing and how to get them to invest in a GP

• Is capital scarcity coming back? Pros and cons of investing in CEE compared to other markets

• Return outlook. Latest vintage returns. Sober analysis of why the performance of the last cycle was not so good. What investment strategies and propositions work best?

• How do LPs identify the best managers and what measures should GPs be putting in place to win the fight for investors’ funds?

• Market predictions: why should LPs believe that the next cycle will be good and what can be done to give confidence to investors to commit capital to CEE?
