Student Coordinators Gurleen Kaur and Sehajpreet , Project Jamboard and Project Sil-sila. a global
youth movement to fight against pollution around the world. It is designed to inspire young adults to
reflect upon their plastic consumption, discover solutions to reduce the consumption and lead change
in their homes, communities, institutions and offices. The students took 2 to 3 weeks to complete the
Basic Level, Leader level and Champion level.
“Project Jamboard” under Student coordinator Jeevika Narula and Divyapreet is an online peer-
tutoring initiative taken up in order to tutor students within the college who find themselves
struggling with written and spoken English. The project commenced in December 2021 with nine
Enactus student members forming the tutors. In March 10 new tutors have joined the project. All
tutors work with 2-3 students each. The duration of one class is an hour, conducted over Google
Meet, twice a week. The teaching process includes weekly reading sessions with students to observe
the change in their speaking skills within a given time span. Along with this, grammar, reading ,
writing and comprehension components are covered.
“Project Sil-sila” under Student coordinators Anupreet Kaur and Jannat, works to upcycle Rumala
Sahibs, sarees and old clothes into envelopes and other items, while generating employment for
people financially affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The group began with its research work in
January. By mid-February, Rumala Sahibs were collected and members of the team had identified the
target group i.e. tailors who had suffered losses in income due to the pandemic. In March, two tailors
from Gurugram were employed. Samples of envelopes made by them were sold at the end of March
with a profit of 50%. The cloth was initially upcycled into a Shagaan envelope but after some market
research, it was found that Gutka Sahib covers are more in demand as well as more profitable.
Currently, the group is negotiating with an NGO and is in talks with certain domestic helpers who
have been affected by the pandemic. It is also in the process of launching these products online via
Instagram, while exploring more products like potlis for their collection.
At the peak of the Covid second wave and the lockdown, Enactus students were involved in
volunteering for resource networking and support for Covid patients and their families. It began with
a WhatsApp group called “Serving Humanity”, consisting of faculty and students of MSC. The
Enactus volunteers verified information and reached out to patients with correct leads as they sought
hospital beds, ambulances, oxygen supply, blood and plasma donors. The students were provided
certificates of appreciation at a Delhi Police programme on Covid management on 16 June 2021.
Students interested in Enactus were selected as members on 27 September 2020 (2nd and 3rd years)
