ATHEISM

A study by the Barna Research Group shows that roughly seven percent

of the American adult population – approximately fourteen million people -

describe themselves as atheistic or agnostic.

An atheist once complained that Christians had their special days such as

Christmas, Easter, and so on. The Jews celebrate Passover. “But we atheists,” he

said, “have no recognized national holiday. It just isn’t fair.”

Said the man’s friend, “I have an idea. Why don’t you celebrate April 1st?”

“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Ps. 14:1).

Josh McDowell and Don Stewart, in Answers to Tough Questions Skeptics

Ask About the Christian Faith write:

“Atheists affirm there is no God. Yet they cannot hold this position

dogmatically. For us to be able to make this type of statement with authority,

we would have to know the universe in its entirety and to possess all knowledge.

If anyone had these credentials, then, by definition, he would be God.”

They were told a couple of weeks ago that if things contin-ued to progress as well as they had, they could expect to come home around the end of October. Because of these events, they are now uncertain of that date. Shacarol Green, friend of the Stringer family, recently underwent heart transplant surgery. They need non-perishable food items, paper goods, and personal-hygiene items.
