PROJECT: South Walker Creek - Dredging project

SCOPE: We Mobilised our larger rose bud cutter suc-tion dredge, an in line boost pump and pipe work. Tasked with removing 75,000.00m3 of coal fines and silts. Removal of the fines was to provide additional water storage capacity in the dam.

CHALLENGES: From the beginning we were aware there was a site data communications cable located in the dam, it was however unclear to actual location. partly washed our temporary structure away it was re-built and more substantial. We reduced our dredging footprint, to allow a safe margin of the suspected location of the cable. As a result of this we can thankfully say the cable is intact.

Providing a weekly pumping activity report and daily flow information allowed us to track progress and bring the project in on time and under budget. with n LTI’s or
