Warning: Keep These 5 Foods Out Of Your Kitchen If
You Want To Stay In Top Shape

What’s In Your Pantry?
• We all want to believe we have a healthy pantry but the truth is… but few people get it 100% right. That’s not a bad thing, we all need a little junk from time to time.
• But those times should be few and considered a treat.

What’s In Your Pantry
• Most people get into trouble when they constantly keep the pantry, fridge, or freezer filled with “treats” and those treats become regular indulgences.
• It’s hard to be a clean eater when ice cream is staring you down every time you open the freezer.
What To Do?
• Rid yourself of these junky foods… if you have been good for a week and need a small treat buy it by the serving… go to the ice cream parlor and get a cup of frozen yogurt instead of keeping a pint of Ben & Jerry’s in the house.
• Single serving items are awesome!
Get Rid Of It!
• To help rid your house and clean up your act, I have compiled a list of 5 food categories that are the big no-no’s of clean eating.
• It’s ok if you have them now… don’t be ashamed… but after clean it up!
The 5 No-No Foods1. Soft drinks: hands down the worst thing you
can have in your home. Not only are they packed with sugar, but they are also loaded with calories. Most soft drinks have over a hundred calories in them, and there goes that snack you wanted!
Even diet drinks are loaded with high fructose corn syrup which has been shown to promote weight gain… get rid of them!
Water is the big winner! Try carbonated flavor
water
The 5 No-No Foods2. Cookies, cakes, and Little Debbie’s: sugar, fat,
simple carbs, empty calories… should I say more? These items offer no nutritional benefit and just add
to the calorie count for the day. Healthy Alternatives:
• Quaker Rice Cake with peanut butter• Fig Newtons (stick to portion size)
• Angel food cake• Frozen yogurt
The 5 No-No Foods
3. Potato chips (even the no-transfat): “Once you pop, you can’t stop?” goes for all chips. They are a social food and I can almost guarantee that you can’t stick your hand in the bag only once.
• Potato chips are filled with bad fats (saturated fats) and simple carbohydrates. These carbs affect your blood sugar levels the most and make shrinking fat cells very hard.
The 5 No-No Foods
Chips Continued: • Have you ever been to a picnic with chips lying in a
bowl lined with a paper towel? Once the chips are gone a big oil spot is left. That grease doesn’t just stay on the towel, you just ingested it into your body. Just think about that each time you see a bag of chips laying around.
• Alternatives include: • Pita chips with hummus • Whole wheat pretzels• Homemade tortilla chips (cut up whole wheat wraps and broil 1-2
minutes on each side)
The 5 No-No Foods4. Fruity Drinks: Sure… pina
coladas, daiquiris, mudslides, margaritas taste great but they are loaded with sugar and calories…
the average size frozen margarita has close to 250 calories and close to 30 g of carbs.
The same is true for juice like orange juice, apple juice, etc. Your best
option is to eat the fruit itself. That way you avoid calories & the
simple carbs plus you get a ton of nutritious benefits like vitamins and minerals.
The 5 No-No Foods
DRUM ROLL….5. Processed foods: Many microwavable meals
are filled with preservatives, sugars, fructose corn syrups and more. The way I judge food… if I can’t pronounce the ingredients, then I don’t buy it. If high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils (fancy for trans-fat) is listed then it is a no go.
The 5 No-No FoodsProcessed Foods Cont’d
Processed foods are a secret bad food. I see women all
the time enjoying their “healthy” TV meals for
lunch and not knowing just how unhealthy they really
are. There are a few companies
make good, natural and organic meals: Amy’s and
Whole Foods Brand but the majority should be banished
from your freezer. Check out Amy’s @: www.amyskitchen.com
Your Call To Action… I Dare You
Here is your dare… Go through your kitchen today and throw out all the foods that are
holding you back. I am not a fan of just throwing away good
food so you can always: take it to work and leave it in the break room for others to chow down on, or donate un-opened
packages to food centers. You will instantly feel cleaner and healthier
and one step closer to the body of your dreams!
