5 KEY IMAGES FROM OUR ANIMATIC

After looking through the final draft of our animatic, and consulting some members of our target audience I have identified 5 key images which were popular amongst our

audience members and considered the reasons why these 5 shots were the most memorable. I will also state if any of these

shots were the ones I had identified as being what I wanted our audience to remember most.

NO.5•The audience said this was an interesting shot as it left them questioning ‘why does he look annoyed?’ ‘Why is he throwing the bag?’• The audience said they thought his facial expression showed a range of emotions such as anger and frustration.• This was not one of the images I picked out as a key image, however, after listening to my audience members it appears to be effective because of the character’s emotions so I will consider how Connor projects these through the actual trailer.

NO.4•This shot again raised questions about the two characters. A lot of audience members wanted to know what the female character had seen, where the male character was taking her, and why had she agreed to go along with him. • Again this was not an image I picked out as a key image, however, I can see why it would stay with the audience as it does create a sense of code of enigma.

NO.3• This was one of the more popular images amongst the audience members I targeted.• A lot of people said that the character’s facial expression made him look vulnerable and wanted to know what was making him scared. • Other audience members believed he looked angry or concerned and wanted to know what he had witnessed to cause him to react in this way. • This was one of the shots which I felt would be a key shot as it would leave the audience questioning what had happened and what he was yelling about.

NO.2• This was again a very popular shot with our audience members. • A number of audience members wanted to know what the boy planned to do, a few said it looked as though he was going to be violent toward the female. • Others believed he was simply telling her to be quiet and wanted to know what they were both hiding from. • A number of people said this shot stuck with them as they wanted to know why the female character was being silenced. • This was again a key shot for me as I think it helps to establish that there could be a relationship between the two characters, but we don’t know what kind of relationship.

NO.1

• This was the most memorable shot amongst my audience members. • It left them with a number of questions regarding the girl’s safety, who was grabbing her? Why was the person grabbing her? Was she going to be okay?• A number of audience members also said that the facial expression of the girl also stuck in their heads as she looked completely terrified and they felt concern for the female, as she appeared vulnerable at this point.

•This was again one of my key images, I feel that this is probably the most important shot in our animatic, as it is the turning point, creating a break in equilibrium.
