•His father was Post-Impressionist painter.
•Impressed by work of Paul Cézanne.
•Deeply influenced by African and Egyptian art.
•Member of the surrealist movement (dreamlike or fantasy art).
•A friend of Picasso in 1940s
•Work deals with Post –World War II societal isolationism and the aftermath of the horrors of the War.
•Giacometti died January 11, 1966.
