THE CONFERENCE

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is pleased to announce the eleventh event in the renowned Coasts, Marine Structures and Breakwaters conference series. Widely regarded as the pre-eminent international forum for the presentation of latest developments and informed debate, every event in the ‘Breakwaters’ series has ensured that the most recent advances in coastal and maritime engineering are highlighted and brought to the attention of practicing engineers and scientists.

Following the success of Breakwaters 2013, which attracted 450 delegates from five continents, Breakwaters 2017 will cover the latest developments from coasts to ports, waterfronts to breakwaters; the full spectrum of research, study, design, construction and operations will be represented. In addition to well established and popular core topics, through ‘realising the potential’ we are also increasing the focus on marine renewables and looking to further develop the discussion on adaptability and sustainability of solutions under ever-changing environmental and socio-economic circumstances.

The conference will showcase up to 150 technical papers and posters over three days covering all aspects of coastal engineering. All papers in this series are rigorously peer reviewed to ensure that all attendees can access the highest quality information.

In parallel with the main session presentations, the Fringe will provide opportunities for presentations of recent news, continuing research and developments in progress.

Do you need to address a key global audience of coastal and maritime engineers and scientists? Would you like to use Coasts, Marine Structures and Breakwaters as a key point of contact?

‘Breakwaters’ occurs every four years and is a touch point for the global community. In 2013 the event attracted 450 delegates and 40 exhibitors and sponsors, and is widely regarded as the premier event for those working in the fields of coastal and maritime engineering.

Use this unique opportunity of a gathering of 400-500 of the world’s leading coastal and maritime engineers and scientists to launch and showcase new and exciting coastal products and services; the technical exhibition will be an integral feature of the conference.

Sponsoring or exhibiting at the event will allow your company to:

• Have direct access to those at the forefront ofresearch and practice in coastal and maritimeengineering.

• Associate your business with the professionalismand excellence that the ICE stands for.

• Be part of the legacy of the event by being in-cluded in the post event published proceedings.
