2 I will bless the LORD at all times; praise shall be always in
my mouth.3 My soul will glory in the LORD that the poor may hear
and be glad.4 Magnify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name
together.5 I sought the LORD, who answered me, delivered me from
all my fears.6 Look to God that you may be radiant with joy and
your faces may not blush for shame.7 In my misfortune I called, the
LORD heard and saved me from all distress.
It was once said that he who praises God for blessings will
always have blessings for which to praise God.Have you noticed when
things are going well we forget to pray, but let even the smallest
trouble come into our lives and we find the time to pray for its
resolution? When David says, I sought the Lord, and he answered me
(v4) he is speaking of a time when he prayed because he recognized
his present difficulty, his danger, could only be resolved by a
loving and forgiving God.When we were children we often boasted, My
Daddy can do anything, but as we matured we didnt use the phrase as
often because we came to realize our Daddy had limitations. Its just
the opposite with God, as we mature in our faith we come to realize
that God has no limitations.
In our worldly adulthood we become independent of our earthly
Father that we once thought could do anything. In our spiritual
adulthood we become more dependent on our heavenly Father because
we know He can do anything. This psalm is an encouragement for all
who struggle to remain loyal to a God who can do anything while He
graciously blesses humanity.
Join your friends and neighbors at church and praise the Lord
for all His help and blessings.
